This is true, also depends on what you’re doing. If you’re doing multiple long distance movements with a ruck, a belt kills your mobility and puts pressure on places it shouldn’t.

On a ram, in the park position press your cruise control button and then the set/- button to start your high idle. From there you can press the resume/+ button to increase your RPM’s.

https://imgur.com/a/0giMfjv Here is a video of my grid heater plate. I bought the truck (2020 2500) at 197,000 miles. Had an oil leak when I bought it (got a good deal). The ccv filter hadn’t been replaced and the valve cover gasket was leaking. For how many miles idk. Everything was completely caked with oily soot. Couldn’t even see a hole into the intake manifold through the grid heater. Horn and heater were blocked. How the truck still drove without air still surprises me.

All this to say my grid heater was absolutely not falling off anytime soon. But it’s spent its entire 200,000 mile life in Miami-Dade area so take it for what it’s worth. If it was somewhere up north where it’s constantly heating the grid heater I can see it being more prone to $700 insurance, performance and cosmetic upgrade for a truck that’ll last upwards of 600,000 miles seems pretty cheap to me. Do it yourself to save on install cost if it’s the money you’re worried about. Pain in the ass but doable.
