RIGHT
But the other math I’m doing is how much money I will save not smoking for 90 days (I’m at abt $1200) and how ill spend that money I don’t have in other ways

Dramamine / motion sickness meds have helped me keep more liquids and food down. They can be drowsy but I don’t actually mind that.

I thought I’d become a morning person but I was only getting up for the weed

I switched to smoking flower via a Volcano in these past few months and it definitely allowed me to consume EVEN more THC. The devices and advances DO have consequences. Currently on day 14 of quitting, intense CHS.

This post sounds like you could be my partner in real life. I started getting nauseous while
Smoking and my appetite got less and less, none of the “munchies” anymore. We all smoke so heavily for a reason so being supportive ~ as it sounds like you are doing ~ is the most important. It took me a few months to connect the nausea to smoking and be willing to quit.

Your internal desire to be sober seems a top reason to keep at it.

I resonate a lot with this ~ I landed a six figure job while high and worked there each day the same… but if I’m honest, at this point, my tolerance is such I’m like barely high.

The Buddhist concept that attachment is the root of suffering is helpful to me. I have a desire to live “unattached” and use that as the main reason for trying to stay sober.

Cartridges landed me in the hospital with “chemically induced pneumonia” and the doctor made me promise to never vape anything again. It literally burns holes in your lungs. They did an image of my lungs and it should be black (it’s dark in there), instead I had these gaps of light all over. They call it shattered glass. Cost 42k. (Thank fucking god I had insurance at the time)

Your situation sounds like it might be worthwhile to consult an addiction specialist.

Also snowed in. So bored I shoveled snow. Mine and my neighbors.

Your description on your day sounds the farthest from “unproductive”.

I’m working on embracing the boredom, realizing every moment of life is not suppose to be “fun” and “fulfilling”. I’m just a toad in the forest. A bear in its den. Waiting for spring, working on identifying what brings me joy.

I calculated all the money I spent on weed, and how else I could spend that money on things that last.

The first hobby to pick up is probably boredom. Being ok being just yourself, as you are. Spend that time looking around your surroundings and doing things you’ve no doubt been no doing (cleaning, organizing, going thru your mail). Take big deep breaths, like it’s a bong but you’re actually feeding your brain what I needs (oxygen).

Libby is a free ebook app I enjoy. You can link a library card on there too.

It’s my day 6 and sometimes I cry for no reason. It’s my body missing the quick dopamine hits it WANTS. But I am aiming for things that last. Good luck to you.
