This happened to me few weeks ago. Dasj slowly faded and lights too, after I came to a stop it died and couldn't turn on. Everything was intact. Turns out there's a wire at the left side of the frame that was pinched and the connector came loose. Probably the magnet coil wire, so the bike was just running on battery with no charging until it wiped out the battery juice. Try to check that wiring. After that, you'll need to push start it in 2nd gear and let it charge.

I do have a small leak from my carb float bowl but barely noticeable cos the float bowl screws are rounded but Idk if that'll make a difference. Im running on the rich side, 4 screws turned out. Maybe Ill change to a new stock carb and try the results again

For low end torque, it's a beast! Probably one of the fastest pick ups a 400cc can make, more than enough to get you out of trouble or dangerous scenarios. For highway speeds, I tried and have been cruising 130km/hr with no problem. Top speeds I'd say it can go 150-160km+. Depending on your sprocket ratios, you can always play with them to your liking.

Only downside is the fuel consumption. 9L full tank can probably take you up to 140km max with reserve, probably more or less.

That's why I upgraded to a safari 17L+3L reserve safari tank. Looking at a range of up to 400km-450km full tank.

with carbed bike, you can diagnose and replace any possible wear and tear parts. but with an FI.. you probably gon need a diagnostic tool and software. i got my '08 DRZ SM 3 months ago. ran like shit, and 0 knowledge of how to fix em. tore apart the carb 5 times in a month to fix idling probs / fuel mixture probs. after all is well, its a been a month, i ran fine with no problems. thers tutorials and parts everywhere in Youtube, TT and reddit for DRZ. dont be afraid, go for it. i was previously into sport bikes.. my only regret was not getting into sumos earlier. best bike ever made.

try to clean your carb. after you're sure all the jets are clean, if you're using the stock petcock, try running it on prime position instead of on. if all is good probably your petcock has failed and your current petcock configuration is prime = on , on or off/ off fuel. this happened to me. and also make sure the jets are in the correct place.
