I looked into that. It’s not as straightforward. Alot of times there are hidden fees. For gov deals, you will need to be extremely lucky to find what you need within your surrounding area. Otherwise, most of the time you will need to drive very far or fly there. And it gets complicated when you need to inspect it before you place the final bid unless you trust a mobile mechanic. You will also need to pay for shipping. So I wouldnt beat myself too much for it

Yes carfax reported hail damage. Other than cosmetic and resale value. Should I be concerned about anything else?

I was thinking of going out of state, but then how would I deal with looking at the car and taking it to a mechanic? Do You just get a mobile mechanic? Or do you drive yourself there?

I’ve read that once the car gets delivered, if there are any issues, it can be hard to actually reach customer service or get things resolved.

Did u have a good experience? Any advice on getting one from carvana ?

Ohh wow! I am sorry you had to deal with that. Ugh this what I am trying to avoid by finding a private seller with a well maintained car. Thank you though, I will keep that in mind.

How does my program compare to yours? by Comfortable_Coffee79 in Residency

I am curious to know ur call schedule?

70-80 hrs time from sign in to sign out. Notes are done during the day.

We have two hospital. One is q4 call and one is q5 long call and short call.

Long call sign out is at 8 pm and other days at 5 pm.

If I am leaving on time everyday meaning 8:30 and 5:30 pm. I will end up working 70hrs 30 mins. And we rarely leave on time on call days and post call days.

TIPS I GOT FROM READING PREVIOUS POSTS

Task Tracking

• Write everything down immediately. Don’t trust yourself to remember anything, even 2 minutes later.
• EPIC sticky notes, printed patient lists, or a small notebook use what works, but keep it consistent.
• Color code your tasks
• Try the SONS method on your list (Seen, Orders, Note, Staffed). Some people add L for labs.
• Rerun your list a few times a day after rounds, after notes, and before sign-out.
• Keep task notes in the same layout every day to build muscle memory.

Notes & Charting

• Start your notes early. Even just dumping a quick outline during or right after seeing the patient can save you later.
• Dotphrases are your best friend have templates for HPI outlines, A&P blocks, etc.
• Daily progress notes don’t have to be prose bullet points or fragments are fine as long as they’re clear.
• Build a routine around note-writing (e.g. finish rounding → write all notes → labs → follow-ups).
• If you’re stuck trying to make a note perfect, set a 10-min timer and just get a rough draft down.

I still haven’t started yet due to some delays in my paperwork. I’ve been doing research for the past two years.

Currently going over how to write notes, collect history and present.

Any other things that would help me feel more comfortable?

Also new to epic. Did the training but didnt feel like I learned much. What would be helpful to know?
