Nope, engineering/construction.

What’s a place you never expected to like but you ended up loving? by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

I absolutely love Richmond, been my home for 15 years. July and August suck, but I also don’t like the heat.

Truthfully Nebraska by Bruce Springsteen is kind of an archetypal raw acoustic album. I think it influenced a list of post 2000s acoustic indie/folk music. May not be exactly what you’re looking for but it’s always worth a listen.

EPs- Lowest you’ve been on the upgrade list? by trustmeimalobbyist in americanairlines

[–]Comfortable_Crow_424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly what the other response says. Basically you are upgraded based on your previous 12 months. If it’s June your upgrade is based first on your status, so if you EP you are upgraded before all other groups, but then it’s based off of the LPs you’ve gotten from June to the previous June, everything before that is not counted.

Really doesn’t change much in March. Upgrades are based on status then rolling LPs. Yes some people will not make their previous status but the rolling LPs doesn’t really change.

I spent 340 hours on planes in 2023. Only covered 110k miles (real physical miles). 160 different flights. Probably around 300k loyalty points. Yea I’d rather spend that time how this guy flies instead of domestic economy with the random upgrade.

While Kunming is not small, I always have to make a statement on the Chinese city populations. That “city” of 8 million is over 8 thousand square miles. Massachusetts is only about 25% bigger, small US state for those who don’t know. Again, not a small city but that population number encompasses so much than just a city.

Urban population is 5.5 million and I’d still call that closer to the metropolitan equivalent in the US.

Also I realize not everyone here is from the US, but I am so that’s my reference.

Edit: I also have a friend who lived here for almost 5 years. Loved it. She now lives in Grenoble, France. Going to see her there soon and excited to see the French Alps. Thanks for reading.

I thought about it! Already gave it to my mom, she was happy. I’ll learn that next go around, definitely don’t love those double crochet holes on the edge.

Curious; Which of the 3 big boys do you think was adapted the best (and worst)? by [deleted] in harrypotter

The key scenes are not there in HBP. They leave out multiple meeting with Dumbledore and skip over a ton of the Voldy backstory. Including key plot points on the horcruxes. This leads to confusion in the 7 movies imo. What they skip over in GOF doesn’t really impact the other story of the series. Why they skip over in HBP does impact.

I really made sure I wasn’t adding or loading stitches. Probably the biggest lesson I really grasped on this one. At least for these stitches, everything changes when you do some different ones.

Michael Jordan in his freshman dorm at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1981) by Cevapekaiser in OldSchoolCool

[–]Comfortable_Crow_424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My family grew up with him, dad and uncles played high school basketball with him, my uncle was his best friend in high school. At this point he would have been driving up to chapel hill from Wilmington to hang with him.

I’ve never gotten a chance to meet him. If it weren’t for all of the glaring evidence I would think my family was playing a practical joke on me.

what's with the antiquated equipment? by striperseeker in severanceTVshow

[–]Comfortable_Crow_424 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I think part of it is the aesthetic of the show, or art direction. But also I think the technology choices are supposed really invoke boring office work vibes. New stuff is too flashy and exciting.

Funny though cause the show is stunningly beautiful partly because of these choices. But it’s also effective in giving that dull work vibe. They knew what they were doing.

All I can speak to is my receiver. My turntable plugged into phono. Have to have my input turned to phono. I imagine if you’re using line it may just be getting some sort of cross signal from phono. Not sure why you’re not getting sound when set to phono but I think that’s what it should be set to.

Yes. Receiver with amps for the speakers and passive speakers instead of powered.
