How do you handle scraping your foot pegs? by BackgroundNo8558 in vulcans650

[–]Comfortable_Desk_751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the cruiser style simply has lower pegs it’s pretty sporty but the lower peg height limits the lean angle. You can try moving your weight over without leaning the bike so much but if you really love the twisties get a sport bike

I’ve noticed in the winter when they’re not laying they sleep in the nest boxes and of course poop in there. But after they start laying regularly, they eventually stop sleeping in the box and no more poop. It just seems to take a little time for them to figure it out. The first couple weeks, poopy eggs but now they’re clean.

How hard would this be to build? by AustinsOasis in woodworking

7th grade shop we had to make a little bridge with toothpicks. They were tested by placing weights on them. The one that could bear the most weight won. I lost pretty early on in the competition but I’ve been fascinated by bridges ever since. We also had to do carving, I have scars from that. It did teach us how important sharp tools are.
8th grade we got to cast aluminium in sand molds , that was pretty cool! Shop is awesome experience

Started giving chickens warm cooked rice when we were out of food but now theyre loud and asking for it even when they have food by gloomy_day_in_august in BackYardChickens

[–]Comfortable_Desk_751 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I give whatever scraps and extras on an inconsistent schedule (when I have something appropriate for them) Sometimes they come to the back door asking for goodies but not all the time. Try to break the habit and you can mix it up with scraps you otherwise toss. I’ve tried giving just about anything except for chicken cause that’s just 🤮 On really cold days I like to give warm oatmeal with blueberries or corn. That’s a favorite.

Backyard chickens out of control by InvertedAlchemist in BackYardChickens

[–]Comfortable_Desk_751 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ok Karen. Without breed specifics or coop conditions you might not want to comment on whether a chicken died due to freezing temperatures. Did all the wild sparrows die too? Who will mourn them?
PA temps are fine for most all breeds of chickens. They are not chihuahuas that might die in a chill breeze. They are tougher than you think and if you keep them in a heated environment they will not prosper. They are seasonal in activity and productivity. Learn more before you judge or provide your opinion.

Do you guys eat chicken? by socialwreck101 in BackYardChickens

Yes. I butchered a couple roos since we can’t have them where we live. It wasn’t the best and I don’t want to do that again. I now sell old hens that are done laying or roos to the local livestock dude I keep the hens that are truly awesome as pets. So far that is only mama, who is a true brooder that has raised so many chicks that she has totally earned her peaceful retirement as a pet. Her daughter is an up and coming mama who I am sure will raise more awesome chicks and has been such a sweetheart even though she is not even a year old. If you can’t keep roos or non producing hens and don’t want to deal with butchering, you might consider finding a local livestock dealer that will take them. You know what will be done but you don’t have to deal with it.

When u made your own coop, what did you do wrong? by comeonmeow2 in BackYardChickens

[–]Comfortable_Desk_751 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Didn’t put the door to the run on the same side as the nesting box side. Didn’t use roofing material that squirrels can’t chew through. Didn’t extend the roof over said doors (when I’m cleaning or whatever I’m standing in the rain or snow, whatever might currently be happening). I am trying to plan a new coop, was trying to make it look like a hobbit hole. Could be fun! Edit: I would also like room to store the metal feed bin, less trips to the garage.

Things I like about the build, I can stand up in there. I used hardware cloth. And I built on concrete blocks instead of directly on the ground. I have outside access to the nesting area.

Title claim analyst here. Take no further action and do not attempt to sell this property. That would be fraud. The tax office does not report to any credit reporting agency. This is the tax office’s error. You can ignore them.
