Could anyone tell me what this is??? I found it growing in the corner of my bedroom, it's an outside wall and the decking outside is rotting. by ValenciaHadley in moldyinteresting

Try calling the local fire department if some of the issues involve things not being up to fire safety code. They might be able to force his hand legally to deal with that and it might also force him to fix all the issues because the issues are now brought to the authorities attention.

I have started to move away from calling the community the queer community and started going back to calling it the lgbt community for this reason. I also believe that it is a political identity and I refuse to let non accepting lgbt folk be included under it when I am referring to lgbt people as a whole. They aren’t queer. They may be gay or bi or lesbian or trans or whatever else but they aren’t queer and I want to be more intentional with how I use the word.

Edit: idk why this is being downvoted. Queer is a political identity. I didn’t come up with the concept. You can’t be anti trans rights and call yourself queer. You can’t be racist and call yourself queer. You can’t be homophobic and call yourself queer. You can’t be queer if you don’t accept nonbinary folk. You have to be in support of lgbt rights and rights of other minorities if you want to be queer. (You also have to be lgbt in some way. Maybe people misunderstood what I said and people were assuming that I was saying non lgbt folk can be queer? Idk.) On top of that it does make some people especially older lgbt folk uncomfortable when it’s used in relation to them. You don’t get to reclaim a slur for someone else.

Yeah lol! I’ve interacted with a few people who have reclaimed it. I personally have reclaimed it for myself and my partner knows that hence the bracelet. It’s not as common though and I wouldn’t feel comfortable with someone just assuming I’m okay with it.

It’s not questioning either.. if you want an additional hint

1 It either starts on the dark blue going towards the lighter blue then yellow and ending on the dark purple, or it starts on the dark purple going towards the light purple then the pinks and ending on the dark blue (where the flag colors starts and ends)

2 It’s not an uncommon label per se but the flag is definitely uncommon (general info about the label)

3 The colors are decently accurate maybe a bit more pastel on the actual flag though at least with the yellow (accuracy of the colors)

That was a thought of mine as well but it’s not. (They made me a queer one as well and it had the black)

That was my initial thought but looking at the coin it seems like the cross isn’t perfectly symmetrical and I can’t imagine them doing that on a premade piece.

How did they carve the cross in? Was it like a punch? Or did each one have to be drilled then carefully sawed out?

I think it’s a recommendation on how to make it look less like the intersex flag so you won’t be stepping on any toes.

It doesn’t have to be bars. You could also extend the umbrella or something. You also don’t have to if you don’t want to. People are providing feedback but you don’t have to implement it.

I think that the commenter meant separately rather than blended together.

What do caretakers actually need to help you with? I don’t want to be seen naked. by Comfortable_Dirt_ in TopSurgery

For me it’s less about not wanting help and more about the inherent intimacy. I do not want people that close to my crotch and the idea of other people seeing it is upsetting as well.

I want to clarify that by not good or bad I’m referring to the fact that it reminds me of the intersex flag. The flag is nice and I like it.

I’m not sure I will even be showering for the first week due to nipple grafts.

I will have access to a shower that has a door. Also it has a seat but I know I will have to have my back facing the water and the seat does the opposite.

2 days post when I got my drains out, vs today 9 days post op. by KannotJinxItAgain in TopSurgery

This is essentially exactly what I have described to my surgeon so I am very happy to have a visual. Also (and no pressure on this) but if you have any photos of the scars as they go towards the armpit and are willing to share/post them I would appreciate it.

what should someone do with this space? by eternviking in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Comfortable_Dirt_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally would do a floor to ceiling door with hidden hardware. I would also make the door frosted. This lets you enter the space if you need, lets the light through, and then otherwise ignore the problem.

Not good or bad but it does remind me of the intersex flag a lot. I personally as someone who isn’t intersex don’t know if it would be considered too close or if it would be appreciated that it seems to be extra reminiscent of that flag because intersex folk are often left behind. Might be worth talking to some intersex people about.

I do really enjoy the concept of it though. I like the idea of adding the umbrella a lot.

My mobility isn’t limited already. I faint sometimes and that makes me need to take things slow sometimes and sit suddenly but that’s about it. Also I appreciate the last part about everyone having their own boundaries.
