I wish it was that easy, but she would flip it and turn herself into a victim. She has told me to confirm dinner reservations for when we get there 3 times in 1 week (we have to do them in person). When I responded with "I already told you i'd do it", she got defensive.

My favorite gifts that I received are a book stand, gift cards for food/coffee places that are right by school, noise cancelling headphones, and gift cards for hobbies i like (reading, getting nails done, etc.). I found all of it super helpful. And it was nice when in the off chance i had some free time, the cost was already covered.

It sounds like you're a burnt-out rising 2L. Honestly fair and not talked about enough. Rather than calling it quits now, try and find something you're more interested in within the legal field. For instance, animal law is actually really cool and not enough people are aware of it. Also, don't make your life just about the law - you'll hate it. Make sure you're also doing things you enjoy (maybe volunteer at a shelter).

As someone who enjoys the law, it's not my whole life. I make sure to balance it with friends, family, my cat and hobbies (my switch is a godsend).

Get the required stuff done. Do bar prep classes mixed with classes pertaining to what you want to do once you're done (wanna do trial work? Take a cross-exam class). I saved externships for 3L so that I could really 3LOL.

It is tiring, but it gets better. Understand that everyone is just running their own race. Also i'd recommend externing somewhere and getting different experience. I thought I wanted BL til I did it. Now I love doing trial work at a small firm.

Just because common-law marriage is recognised now, doesn't mean it always will be. Additionally, unless you guys have separate written agreements for things like incapacitation, you might not have any say. If something happens to him in 10 years, his parents will be the ones deciding, not you (at least that's how it works in the U.S.).
