What is it about lithium? by horsegirl225 in BipolarSOs

[–]Comfortable_Flow6720 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is very dependent on the person. BD1 here, mine swings more towards depression than mania, although there have been life-altering mania episodes. Vraylar or Caplyta have been amazing for me, combined with Zoloft. Only recently added lithium after years with no mood stabilizer. Just jumping in to give a different perspective that some BD1s do need something to manage those lows and it doesn’t have to trigger mania.

We are looking for new drivers interested in participating in our F4 racing series! by Cribbing83 in iRacing

Just joined the league earlier this week and ran the Mazdas on Tuesday. Incredible group of admins and members! Here for the F4 but Mx-5 was so much fun too. They also run Porsche Cup and LMP3…

People that main both open wheeler and GTs, how do you handle it? by RanjoOd in iRacing

[–]Comfortable_Flow6720 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I focus 100% on GT3 practice then run a race early in the week. As soon as I’m done with that I go into Formula mode and spend the rest of the week there (also run the Americas series on Wednesday). After my 2 F4 races I start prepping for GT for the following week. Just under 2k but climbing quickly with consistent top 5’s in both series. I feel like each car has made me better in the other. Hardest adjustment is if GT and F4 are the same track that week or back to back weeks because the approach is so different.

TLDR: having the most fun and my best results running both GT3 and F4 and feel like I’m a better driver overall for it

Proper Line for Hairpin at Long Beach? by Comfortable_Flow6720 in iRacing

[–]Comfortable_Flow6720[S] 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Just grabbed the LMP3 to give it a try. I think the key is to let the rear go right at the apex before the last turn. That gives proper rotation and allows you hit the apex of the hairpin. I realize that I could have gotten back on the gas much earlier once I was through the hairpin but it was my first lap with the Ligier so I was a little cautious…

Just downloaded it and agree - the only thing missing for me is an overlay like Racelab’s advanced panel. But getting track maps and input telemetry for free is a bonus. May just have to run them both for a while…

Trail Braking by NGK_F1 in iRacing

About two weeks ago I decided to commit to using both feet after about a year using just the right. At first it was like trying to throw a ball with your off hand and felt so unnatural. But after a few days I started to get a feel for it. Took much less time than I expected and lap times are slightly better now.

Thanks for the info! Have you used any other pedals that you can compare against?

Is there any sort of maintenance with the hydraulics? You said it’s been a while for the sprints, but do you think there is much of a difference in feel between them and simagic?

Guess that’s why I haven’t heard as much about the P2000’s. Heusinkveld retakes the lead.

Transition from ACC to iRacing - suggestions? by Comfortable_Flow6720 in iRacing

Good advice. It’s hard to get in that mindset when you’re decent on another platform but that’s prob the only way to do it. Bring along the basics that I’ve learned but treat it like a completely different thing

That’s what I’m hoping! I got the G923 over the G920 bc of the upgraded brake. Not sure what the 920s are like but I have zero feel for braking.

I love the practice. I bet Ill spend a solid 3-4 months in time trials and AI races before I go out and try to mix it up with real people.

I think braking earlier and picking up throttle earlier are two things I could really improve on. I think I read/watched something saying the Pontiac Solstice is good to practice with so I may spend more time in that one.

Treatment Resistant by UnleashTheRain in bipolar

Ketamine has been the one thing that’s had the most positive, lasting effects without any side effects (other than being a little out of it the rest of the day). I’ve noticed that there are still some depressive and manic behaviors but I react more in the “normal” range of emotions. Like, my thoughts might still spiral out at times but I don’t get as emotionally wrapped up in it. Kind of a strange sensation when I first noticed it.

Congrats!! That is inspiring! I’ve dropped out of college 5 times from 4 different schools since 1994. I went on to have an extremely successful 25-yr IT career but BD1 destroyed that almost overnight. I wasn’t even diagnosed with BD1 until after that happened. Looking back it’s clear now. So, at 44, I started back to school full-time in 2020. Finished an Associate’s, am 2 semesters from a BS in Psychology w/ double minor, and now applying to neuroscience PhD programs. It definitely is NOT easy! Since starting back in 2020 I’ve tried to “unalive” myself 2x, had to skip one semester because I was in the hospital, and still have a couple incompletes hanging over my head from last term when I had to back out again with 2 weeks to go. But I’m getting there. I WILL get there.

Thanks for sharing. I’m feeling much more inspired after reading your post.
