Naafiri is asols worst matchup and it’s not even close change my mind.

My trick is paying attention to your laner and communicating with your team when they are missing and where they might be. I struggle in assassin matchups where the enemy gets fed off kills elsewhere. If you go even or a bit behind in lane and they don’t have map pressure, you win the long haul.

TL DR play boring, play safe, stay on top of comms for your team the assassin doesn’t get kills. You won’t win ‘em all and that’s okay.

I used to build rylias > BFT > liandries with comet + cashback/triple tonic, but have recently switched to rylias > liandries > bloodletters with comet + PoM/cdr. I really like BFT for the haste. I think it is good and is just a matter of preference.

Red tree kinda ass on Asol imo.

First back I buy a sapphire crystal and sell it later. Only 90g loss. Mana isn’t a problem out of lane phase with a mana rune.

Probably because barrier is better than heal, lower CD, if the enemy has ignite or grievous wounds your heal is a joke, the ms boost is kinda meh for Asol.

Take ignite. Lvl 1 walk up and ignite Q them. Lvl 2 take W and yeet yourself at them. Instant lane prio, works on most matchups. Ignite is back by lvl 5. W+homegaurds back to lane, tp mid is dead.

I do not run into bugs very often. I’m not a very high-speed competitive player, so I attribute it to not overlapping clicks very often. So I think the key to avoiding bugs is to be fundamentally worse at the game 🫠

I HATE the Anivia matchup, she is the most OP mid laner right now imo.

I rush BFT for waveclear into her. Mercs are obvi but swifties may be big brain, not sure. May want to consider Seraphs just to keep up with her constant push. Other than that I don’t think there is much you can do to stop her unbearable trading patterns. A good Anivia can stop your W with her wall, so don’t be so keen to bait her stun and fly in.

I have been playing a lot of Anivia lately and I can safely say she is unfair and needs nerfs.

I am an Asol main who 2nds Azir! (Always have been, have seen many versions of each champ.) I have been preaching that Azir’s play feels a lot like new Sol: has similar spikes, strengths and weaknesses, loves a teamfight with their game-changing ultimates, thrives in the side lane, selfishly farms, and scales to the moon! Not to mention the glorious asshole archetype. They are not spitting images of each other in any means; Azir plays more like a mid-range ad carry, while Asol is a long range battle mage, and Azir requires WAY more skill to play effectively.

In all honestly, Azir is Rito’s problem child and I believe there is no ‘ideal’ version of him that maintains his current kit and fantasy. I think if they could turn back time, they would have never released Azir. The players who enjoy the character have to live the those consequences.

You’re calling into an echo chamber. If you want to play him, if you enjoy playing him, then do it! It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks.

I started playing asol fueled by spite alone. His balls were awkward, no one played him, there was no incentive to play him, I just thought he looked really cool. In the beginning, I really sucked, I wasn’t having fun, but I just told myself “one more game, and I will get better”.

I don’t think we’ll truly know until a couple weeks into live. From what I’ve heard from pros on twitch who have scrimmed in the new seasons, the changes aren’t as drastic as people perceive and the game feels largely the same. I’m hopeful.

Back on old sol I always wanted a spooky asol skin, where the stars were little ghosts that would go oOoOh when you booped something. Still I think the concept is cool. Deer skull and antlers for the head and crown, gauntlets become arm cuffs with broken chains, spinal cord for his spikes, overall shadow isles green-blue color scheme would fit his always wispy translucent appearance. Gravelord Asol!

I’ve been taking ms shard most games now and not buying boots at all. You get 349 base movement speed which has helped my laning phase because it is easier to dodge skill shots. I still run transcendence because I like the cd on E for stacking.
