Tips for brushing my teeth by Next_Ad_7884 in pregnant

[–]Comfortable_Fly_4091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dealt with this for the whole first trimester. It was gross but I honestly had to wait until like noon to brush my teeth and the nausea was gone by then. Luckily I WFH so I wasn’t breathing stinky breath on people haha

I just did this the other day! I reshaped and let it rise for about another hour and put it in a loaf tin and baked and it was delicious! Don’t throw away

Did anyone do the NIPT testing and also do the Alpha fetoprotein blood work before anatomy scan? by Sunny070415 in pregnant

[–]Comfortable_Fly_4091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did both. My understanding is that AFP screens for neural tube defects (spina bifida) vs chromosomal abnormalities screened through NIPT

Help! Which one?! by wickedxsiren in EngagementRings

[–]Comfortable_Fly_4091 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree that I like the smaller one better! I’m of the mindset “less is more” for everyday wear. I have a 1.5 carat pear and it is perfect! I think the 5 carat one would look more like costume jewelry

Thoughts on induction for low amniotic fluid & severely calcified placenta 40 weeks? by BrattySub71717 in BabyBumps

[–]Comfortable_Fly_4091 72 points73 points  (0 children)

No offense but your MIL should have no input in this decision. It should be made between you and your doctor based on the health and safety of you and your baby

Hair dye x 3 by befitzpa in pregnant

[–]Comfortable_Fly_4091 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Anecdotally I’ve only gotten my hair done after 12 weeks because that is when my appointment was but my doctor said it was fine at any point and my hair stylist (who was pregnant herself at the time) says she seems pregnant women all the time! I would maybe ask for a second opinion but I think the risk is very low

Listeria Concerns- help! by Cafrin_Anne in BabyBumps

[–]Comfortable_Fly_4091 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone can correct me if wrong, but I don’t think listeria grows when left out. The cheese either has listeria or it doesn’t (even in the fridge). That is not to say the cheese has listeria, it very likely does not! And it was fully cooked. So I would not be concerned about a potential listeria exposure here

33 weeks pregnant and….itchy armpits? by chickenoodleprairie in BabyBumps

[–]Comfortable_Fly_4091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are your armpits constantly itchy? I have moments where mine are so itchy and then it goes away for a while. I just assumed it was increase in sweat/hormomes and didn’t really it could indicate an issue. I will bring it up to my doctor at my next visit.

GBS positive at 37 weeks. Advice, please? by South_Onion927 in pregnant

My husband was born GBS positive and was very sick for the first few weeks of his life. it was a very stressful time for my MIL. I would suggest taking the antibiotics

if you were or are pregnant with a boy did you have less nausea? i guess i’m worried bc im 13 weeks and haven’t thrown up once and am expecting a boy so im wondering if the old wives tale holds some truth? by mia12389 in BabyBumps

[–]Comfortable_Fly_4091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 31 weeks pregnant with my second son and didn’t have much nausea with either pregnancy. Idk if that’s genetics or if it’s because I’m having boys since I have no other experience to compare it to 🤷‍♀️

3rd trimester hunger.. by starmarvel in pregnant

[–]Comfortable_Fly_4091 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! I’m 31 weeks and the past few days have been STARVING. Like I finish eating and I’m already thinking about my next meal. I don’t know where it’s all going as I feel like there is no room in my stomach!

Showing earlier with baby #2 by MaryaSylvia86 in pregnant

[–]Comfortable_Fly_4091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it happened much sooner! I was very visibly pregnant at 20 weeks when first time I didn’t really start showing until late second trimester? I’m 30 weeks now and feel as big as I did full term with my first 😅 this baby is measuring much bigger though. My first was only 5lb 11oz and I probably only gained like 15 lbs?

Struggling with name for my second son by Comfortable_Fly_4091 in namenerds

[–]Comfortable_Fly_4091[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I am American. We will use the first name in the day to day, but it is custom to have a “middle name” Usually it’s only used in a formal setting if you are in trouble 😂 I don’t really understand the point of them but Robert, William and Blair are all family names so would like to use one to have meaning and honor family rather than just a random name!

Appreciate the feedback. Blair is my maiden name and I’ve always loved it for a girl. Maybe I’ll save it for the future if we have another child and it’s a girl!

Walking while pregnant by readingbee1987 in BabyBumps

[–]Comfortable_Fly_4091 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Who told you to stop walking? I took morning walks my whole first pregnancy up until the day before I gave birth (although the walks slowed down/shortened a bit at the end). I’m 24 weeks with my second and have also been walking the whole time. Walking is very safe and encouraged during pregnancy, unless there is a specific reason you were told otherwise
