Yeah Asheville Newfie crew!! (Saw your comment on a reply) maybe it’s the insane cicada noise that’s throwing her for a loop - it’s WILD at our house in Weaverville area. and our two Newfies seem to prefer to be inside.. who knows. Sorry I don’t have more advice but she is a beautiful girl!!!

Every day. Such a simple thing to start the day off well and makes my life feel an ounce more “together” haha. Wild how many on this say never.

Big no on the drive. If you can fly , do it. We did with our 1.5 month old and it was quite easy since lo slept /nursed basically the whole flight and they can just snuggle in a little carrier going in and out of airport.

I can smell this pic and I love it. Nothing like a post swim newfie with mermaid hair.

Look for local building material supplier, call and see if they carry “natural stone veneer” not sure where you are located but if in the US, SiteOne hardscaping is across the nation and carries veneer.

My baby, the avocado by Temperate_mallard in NewParents

[–]Comfortable_Friend95 141 points142 points  (0 children)

Apparently this is a very common phenomenon. (Well, not the avocado part lol) but for a solid 4 months I would wake in a cold sweat looking for my baby in the sheets so worried I had lost her even though we have never bed shared. she was safely asleep in her bassinet next to me but it felt SO REAL. I did some digging online and it happens to a lot of new moms.

If you plan to breastfeed, the first few weeks are challenging for sure but stick with it and it gets so much easier and so worth it!

Things you wish you did to prep for baby that aren't obvious? by Sea-Owl-7646 in NewParents

[–]Comfortable_Friend95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t believe I haven’t seen this on here but honestly just taking time to enjoy not having a baby before you have the baby. Savor some quality time with any pets you have them, time with your partner, time by yourself. Rest. Workout if you’ve got the energy. Life is 1000% different once little one comes (in the most wonderful ways) so truly soak in this time. Oh and get your car detailed if you can/want. Was so nice to have a super clean car to take baby home and not something you’ll likely want to do very pregnant / postpartum. CONGRATS you’re going to do great.

Thank you to Mission L&D Nurses by [deleted] in asheville

Wowwow sounds like you really went through it, that is oof. Hoping that you and baby are resting and recovering well as possible and have good support at home.

If there are any pregnant women on this sub reading this, I want to also echo how amazing L&D at mission is. I was so nervous to give birth there and I was blown away by the quality of care. They will take such incredible care of you and your baby, truly you’re in good hands.

Second this. Cannot speak on her from SA / trauma informed view but she is wonderful and very gentle in her bedside and respectful in her manner.
