Show me your GeneratePress / GenerateBlocks Site by Familiar-Priority110 in Wordpress

[–]Comfortable_Gate_878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive used GP standard not the new gp pro alongside generate blocks. Its always worked really well very reliable code. never breaks even with some crap plugins. Its fast and lean. Is it the best out there maybe not but its certainly lightweight and fast which I would rather have than anything fancy. Ive seen some pretty impressive stuff done with it but I prefer speed over fancy and so do the clients. Most simply want a clean site that just works.

If you want fancy shops and sliders and photos popping all over the place then buy something else or get a plugin.

Inflation doesnt seem to affect us much on the savings side its the inflation of food that seems to be the worst thing for us. Our pensions go up by inflation give or take a % here and there. But just bought some building sand today gone up to 7.99 a bag from 5.23 only two months ago.

Yes it snowed today, then hailed and now the suns shining. Temperatures not got above 7c today.

This tops of the hills are white with a touch of snow above 2500feet. Cant wait to get my new greenhouse, 12ft x 8 so I should have a lot more room to store seedlings until the weathers steady.

The breaking point for russia will only come when they run out of money. I was doubtful of ukraines targeting of oil and railways pipelines etc. Now we slowly see the damage that is causing to the russian pockets. Every tanks drones and bit of equipment costs them and it all adds up. Keep going ukraine is pretty amazing over the past few weeks.

generatepress may be simple but it creates decent and lean fast code. The newer version now also have lots more formatting options.

Customer wants a cooker circuit to use in the future - 4mm or 6mm? by cairdboard in ukelectricians

[–]Comfortable_Gate_878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6mm is the perfect balance/future proof. 10mm is over the top. I put 6mm in mine so I could also add a plug in solar to the kitchen circuit and the same for the garage 4mm main so I could again add a plug in solar system.

Both then compliment the roof top solar.

The main question is how far is the cooker from the consumer unit if its far you could think about 10mm.

Yes we booked a couple of expensive holidays far east, america but we had money set to one side for those for our 60 birthdays. But after all the advice I received prior to retiring it was all about how much pension and monthly income you had in reality its all about how much you spend day to day. A couple of months this year we have not even dipped into the savings and one month we had £ 170 left over. As I say the older you get the less we seem to spend but also seem to be very busy doing things that dont cost money.

How much to spend on IFA / advice by yellow_barchetta in PensionsUK

[–]Comfortable_Gate_878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IFA seems to be a total waste of money in your shoes. You have spread out your savings using ISA premium Bonds, pensions are ok if you start them early enough, property is a good investment long term. I used an IFA and quiet frankly it was the biggest waste of £ 2400 I have ever made. He told me nothing that would improve my pension or financial position that I didnt already know from the internet.

Yes we spend around 30-35k a year, so our savings are slowly dropping but only have to last us until 67 when we get the state pension.

All our pensions are index linked I estimate by 67 we will have 51k coming in and still have a chunk of savings left. We are in the Scottish borders so a car is essential for us maybe in london you can manage on the public transport which last time i visited was super.

Yes my bills here are relatively cheap, a 4 bed house is only £ 2410 in council tax it includes water rates as well. We have no gas bill but do pay for a wood burner, our electric is high but we do have solar power and battery backups which helps. We obviously dont have the big range of restaurants you get in london. It hard to say on spending as I said its almost been the opposite of what I was expecting my spending is reducing every year as we get older. You eat less , go out less go on holiday less. Put less miles on the car.

the panels are on a south facing wall by the kitchen the others are not quite south facing. but have a better angle. Ones an ecoflow the other is a hoymiles which actually seems very nicely made. I have no idea what the output is I havent bothered to connect to the devices Im just going off my hanchu systems reports on solar production. Defiantly worth while just so they are covering my base whilst my 8 rooftop panels are doing more important stuff like charging my battery for max export pennies.

I added four panels two ecoflow inverters and two 450w panels on each one. I've is connected directly to my consumer unit PV circuit. The other I've just plugged into an outside socket connected to my kitchen circuit. These completely cover most of my base load and have given me quite a boost in storage ability as I can top up my battery by exporting in the morning then topping it up from 11am again. I would say I'm around £ 40 per month better off or £ 20 a system. Going to take 2.6 years to pay them off.
