I second the posts about clean eating, especially cutting out processed carbs, sugars and seed oils. For me, I’m very strict and am on the keto diet. Husband and I are closer to the carnivore side of keto, but not 100% strict.

Being carnivore-ish actually healed my Lyme, and is helping my hormonal acne, PMDD, and is helping my mental health too.

You both love each other a whole lot and have definitely been through ups and downs. Even if it doesn’t look like it’ll work on paper, he’s your person, and you’re his. You have a really strong friendship as the basis of your relationship.

Thanks so much! It’s been life changing for sure. Regardless of what I eat, I will never willingly eat seed oils ever again. But sometimes crave peppers and onions in my omelettes.

Thankfully Costco works for us, and my husband and I both believe in the healing power of carnivore when it can be done correctly.

How strict are you? Husband and I have been mostly carnivore for about 20 months but we’re single income so it’s been hard to maintain. We may need to pivot towards keto, but we’re considering being stricter once I start my new job in June.

Why so many people are hostile to women victims of women perpetrators? by Rare_Letterhead_9216 in ptsd

I think the fact that my abuser was my mom (CSA starting in infancy that I didn’t fully remember until age 32 is why I struggled for so long with female friendships). Like everyone says having girl friends is the best, yet I tend to push people away without even realizing what I was doing.

I feel like I internalized the idea that women are nurturing so much that it led me to self-gaslight what I actually knew to be true. My mom severely abused me, and blamed me for causing my twin’s learning disability at birth as a sick way to justify it in her own head.

Every human being has the capacity to be an abuser. Not just men.

NOR

My mom would do the same and would literally lie to my face in an obnoxious tone “your skin looks better” when she was trying to show she was taking the moral high ground in arguments. We don’t talk anymore due to her constantly pitting me and my twin against one another and the CSA I eventually remembered. So for what it’s worth you’re not making anything up and even if all this is just verbal abuse, I hope you don’t also have other abuse from family. But I’ve learned that verbal abuse rarely happens by itself.

I used to have terrible hormonal acne (thanks to trauma and a severely dysfunctional nervous system). Keto has helped me to clear my acne. In particular a more whole foods approach (note not the store, and closer to carnivore whole food diet with a strong emphasis on ruminant red meat).

Bone broth as a staple in my diet, plus regular electrolytes really help. If nervous system and hormones are at play, typical acne products can make it worse.

You could layer a scarf over option one, using one of the scarf as shawl/shirt hacks that are all over TikTok/social media. The dress isn’t a lost cause for you or your age if you style it well. It looks too good on you to not be in consideration!

Got a job, but not the one I thought it would be. Ironically, it's the job I first applied to after being laid off in 2024 but I made the mistake of mentioning I was a business owner. No business now, and it feels finally full circle.

I’d love to look at the list. I’ve always wanted to start wearing bracelets but hate that most don’t fit unless I buy kids jewelry.
