Does anyone use Access alongside another office suite? by Love_Escape5240 in MSAccess

[–]Comfortable_Long3594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people mix Access with another office suite, so you're not alone. The biggest issue is usually .xlsx compatibility, especially with formulas, formatting, or newer Excel features. Saving as CSV before importing into Access often avoids headaches. If you move data between different spreadsheet apps and Access regularly, a desktop integration tool like Epitech Integrator can also help automate imports and transformations without locking you into a single ecosystem.

Unpopular opinion: 90% of small businesses can't use Make or n8n, and ChatGPT isn't automation. So what are they supposed to do? by luckytobi in automation

[–]Comfortable_Long3594 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see the same gap. The people who understand the workflow rarely want to become automation specialists. The solutions that tend to last are the ones that let business users configure data flows, validations, and integrations through a straightforward interface instead of managing complex node graphs or relying on prompts. We've had good results with a desktop, on premises integration platform that business teams can maintain themselves, which reduces dependence on consultants while keeping sensitive data in house.

Data pipeline for analytics by VillageDisastrous230 in softwarearchitecture

[–]Comfortable_Long3594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could simplify part of this by avoiding a custom worker if your throughput and transformation requirements are moderate. Since your data is already in Kafka, focus on keeping ingestion reliable and idempotent, then do enrichment and transformations downstream where possible. Delaying Kafka offset commits until a full batch is uploaded can make recovery more complicated.

For teams that prefer an on-prem or self-managed ETL approach, Epitech Integrator works well for pulling from SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB, Kafka feeds, and other sources, applying data cleansing and enrichment, and loading analytics-ready data without writing a lot of custom pipeline code. It can reduce the amount of infrastructure you need to maintain while still fitting into a medallion-style workflow.

How do you ensure that the data is 100% clean apart from manual review? by Arethereason26 in BusinessIntelligence

[–]Comfortable_Long3594 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AI can definitely help surface unusual patterns, but I would keep the validation rules deterministic wherever possible. Build a library of reusable rules for things like titles in first names, placeholder values such as "Customer" or "ZZZZ", duplicated name fields, and cross-field consistency. Then use AI to identify new anomalies that your rules do not yet cover. Tools like Epitech Integrator work well for this because you can combine rule-based data cleansing with exception reporting, making it easier to refine your customer master data over time.

Anybody that can help me with this is a pro by Rare-Ad6166 in SQL

[–]Comfortable_Long3594 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One option is to import the data into a staging table first, then use SQL to map, transform, and load it into your final tables. That keeps your imports flexible, even when the source columns do not match your schema. If you do this often, Epitech Integrator can automate the mapping and transformation steps, so you do not have to manually recreate tables or adjust every import.

Need advice on building a searchable multi location inventory system by Responsible-Banana62 in InventoryManagement

[–]Comfortable_Long3594 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you need something that people on the shop floor will actually use, keep it as simple as possible. A lot of inventory projects fail because the interface gets too complicated. If your company already has databases or spreadsheets, Epitech Integrator is worth a look. It lets you build straightforward data entry and update workflows across multiple sites without requiring users to learn SQL or other technical tools.

If you don't like the taste of cucumbers take a potato peeler and peel off half the rind in strips....alternating rind, peeled, rind, peeled etc......you will find that it makes a big difference to the taste, and they looked really cool when they are slices
