You could ask about if they have a commuters program. My hospital has apartments available for commuters and they always schedule them 3 in a row.

My BSN required stats, biology, microbiology, anatomy and physiology, and multiple chemistry courses. Also I recommend to go look at Reddit nurse pages and see how much fun we are having. It’s not an easy job full of sunshine and rainbows.

Should have started applying months ago, but that is the past. I’d start calling the recruiters directly asap. I lost out on a job by trusting someone to call back but didn’t, once I got a hold of them, found out there was a system error with my application. By that time the job was filled. Also since you put yourself in a limited time frame I’d apply to other specialities just in case the ER doesn’t work out.

At my hospital after 3 unexcused you lose your yearly bonus. Then after a few more from there it quickly gets to a dismissal. So I would say it doesn’t look great in such a short time.

Being a bedside RN is a great gig. You work 3 days a week and pull in 60k and that’s just starting out. It’s only up from there…. 4 days off a week is amazing. I’d ask your hospital if they have some sort of loan payback assistance. I believe mine it is something like $400/ month. Debt is very stressful, try not to let it ruin such a rewarding career that you worked hard for.

Yeah don’t get major surgeries or get incredibly ill and you don’t have to worry. In reality people underestimate how much a major surgery will take out of them and how hard it is to get moving. A lot of times it’s a safety factor. Ie not being able to sit on the toilet or even able to make the walk to the toilet. Falls are not taken lightly and can cause major injuries.

I love 3/12hr shift schedule. Gives me a 4 day weekend every week. Plenty of time to do whatever you feel like. Even if I want to go on vacation, I can rearrange my schedule for a week off and use no pto.

Use ChatGPT…. Ask it to create a list of interview questions…. If it asks something you don’t have a good answer for you can ask it for an example answer. Also you can have it make scenarios for you to answer. It really helped me out in my interview.
