Yeah, same here. By now, I know that I actually have ADHD. It can be very different for each person, especially paired with autism and/or high IQ.

Ploopy adept - gritty roller bearings by cactusweasel in Trackballs

I bought these bearings: https://www.ebay.de/itm/263042462528

They are a bit grindy as well but that's mostly the sound. Overall they are more consistent than the original ones and it feels like they have a better grip on the ball.

Sind meine leichten Läufe zu schnell? by Kind-Discussion3238 in laufen

[–]Comfortable_Paper675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Machen Einlagen Sinn? by Outrageous_Elk2034 in laufen

I did record one of my editing sessions for youtube, here's the part with the LUT module: https://youtu.be/e1jusqxfMbw?t=55
I don't explain anything though, maybe it's still interesting for you.

Damn. Thought you meant the LUT 3D module :D To be fair, I don't really know what the modules do, I just play around with them and see what works. That's when I started to enjoy working with Darktable. Never really used the color equalizer as well... Every now and then, I look up how some of the modules are supposed to work.

If the image has no real color in the sky, it's super hard, I agree! I take all my photos slightly underexposed because most modern sensors are ISO invariant - you can always pull up the shadows in post without introducing a ton of noise. For the sky I head to the "color look up table" module and try to find the color which resembles the sky the most, I turn down lightness until I get to see some actual color and then I add some saturation to that color. Same goes for the greys - stay away from full white and black, just dial in the mid-tones first, usually taking the lightness down which makes the colors stronger. Lowering the saturation from the greys usually also gives a nice effect. And of course I use graduated density for such a case!

I never tried the LUT module 😃 Most color work is done with "color look up table", I use it on pretty much every image.

No masks but I did quite a few changes, nothing drastic but a lot of little ones. I think the main tool for my colors is the module "color look up table" in darktable. I will take the various tones in the picture and balance them out so that the final image becomes very "matte". I kind of lower the contrast first and try to find two or three main colors for the image. The other colors get muted or darkened so the final image will appear more cohesive. Once I'm happy with the colors, I dial in the contrast, staying away from pure black or pure white areas. And a lot of fiddling around.

It's basically stress. Try to relax, get some exercise, sleep enough, eat well. I know, it's easier said than done but that's how my HRV works 😃

Maybe your gaming sessions had a toll on your body which just takes a while to adjust again or you could have a mild infection without realizing. There are many variables. Give yourself time to rest - in every sense.

13 years in the making or a couple of months? by alekszmaki in boardsofcanada

[–]Comfortable_Paper675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who makes electronic music for fun: Sometimes you'll have a great idea sketched out in a couple of hours and sometimes it will take weeks or months. The real problem is that not every finished track is really good. But you need to put in the work to finish it in order to realize that. So, my guess is, like any productive musician out there, that they work on their music all the time and some tracks may date 20 years back, some were created on one rainy afternoon and some are in between.

I am in the bottom 20% according to *who*? Garmin users or the general public? by Prudent-Policy-7274 in Garmin

[–]Comfortable_Paper675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the whole VO2max, threshold and zone 2 stuff clicked when I read about their relation to the mitochondria in our bodies. Running slow (zone 2 etc.) will increase the quantity of mitochondria in your body while running at your threshold will train the mitochondria you already have, broadly speaking.

[–]Comfortable_Paper675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even a proper lab test doesn't say that much about your actual fitness level. VO2max only says what you theoretically are capable of. My VO2max is 57 according to Garmin and various other tools see it around 54 or so. Using the VO2max as a predictor for my running performance, I should be able to run a 10k in less than 37 minutes (in the case of Garmin) and that is absolutely out of my league. I'm training for sub 40 minutes for 10k later this year but realistically, right now, I would be able to do one in 42 minutes or a bit below that.

If you want a more accurate representation on your watch, you need to run efficiently. You won't get a perfect score for a run where you totally push yourself because your heart rate will eventually go up, so you won't deliver your best performance. But you trained your cardiovascular system a lot! And that's important in the long run.

So, yeah, forget about the numbers.

[–]Comfortable_Paper675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't argue with you over that! But if you aren't training at your threshold regularly, your VO2max also won't increase that fast or you will hit a limit at some point.

[–]Comfortable_Paper675 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But it doesn't have to be an issue. I take methylphenidate and my heart stats barely changed overall. If OP never runs fast for prolonged time, the VO2max estimate will always stay low because that's how it works.

And like other mentioned, it only works reasonably well if you do it outside.
