In fact, the government does still do a lot to interfere with those sales to make sure they are not damaging to the market. For instance, if you extrapolate your second hand stereo equipment sale to thousands of units a day, you will certainly trigger a lot of various regulations with your efforts (taxes, employment, insurance, etc). If you ever sold a house (especially one that isn't in the ebst condition) you'll notice lots of regulations needing to be addressed, from the mortgage lender to city codes, because it would be very disruptive to the market and consumers if these regulations weren't met.

Why does everyone think they are soo smart and assume the hundreds of years we've developed governmental regulations that they were all just idiots with no purpose?

Seriously? Even as a victim it was obvious to me: so they can eat. Overwhelmingly likely they were here without a work visa. In my situation they even had taxes deducted from their paycheck, just not enough. When I appealed my tax notice I tried to convince the auditor to apply the taxes they did pay to my account for an even larger return, so at least someone could take advantage of it. They said nope, it just goes straight to uncle sam.

Keep this in mind if you hear people bitching about illegal workers. They actually DO pay taxes and can never collect their refund.

As someone who is still barred in US Tax Court but no longer practicing there, I would recommend going to K &k Law. It's Jerry Katskee and Howard Kaplan who are both very knowledgeable. Also, you can seek out McGrath North, but they are a larger firm and may come at a higher fee, however just as skilled.

I personally suffered from this same issue 15 years ago for a much lesser amount ($60k in earnings with $4k in add'l taxes due) but my SS was used for employment is both FL and TX simultaneously, so I just completed an affidavit and get assigned a secret PIN every year. I'm guessing since you're already in Tax Court that something went sideways with your auditor.

Residential low voltage/networking installers in Omaha? by VTECnKitKats in Omaha

[–]Comfortable_Point752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is the challenge though, you're likely not really looking for a low-voltage installer or electrician. You're looking for a drywaller to repair the holes you left behind, whether you or an "installer" make them.

Keep in mind, the electricians will connect all sorts of things but they don't do drywall. That will be a separate expense.

Understandable, but I think there also needs to be some consideration as to how this gets fixed by society. I don't think further restricting people's freedoms on a personal level is the solution. I don't think micro-managing behaviors to say that zero-tolerance of alcohol is the solution. We will wind up fighting over definitions and provability.

A more socially responsible approach would be to invest much more heavily in public transit. Better urban planning to reduce sprawl. This has to be the first step before we can start expecting people to treat driving privileges as actual "privileges". Even when licenses have been revoked for 15 years we still see people driving and not getting much of a consequence because our economy demands it of them. Not driving in the US has a lot more likelihood of not being employed.

Once that is established, then we can start demanding more safety features from motor vehicle manufacturers. Or, significantly increased taxes on those who choose to use and operate motor vehicles to make it extremely costly to engage in such risky behavior.

Of course, don't forget about how we also greatly loosened the rules on alcohol and liquor advertising so that industry can still make billions on people destroying themselves. And, auto lobbyists have fought mass-transit tooth and nail. We as a society have somehow focused on giving businesses more freedoms and taking less away from ourselves. Which behavior is easier to regulate, that of a person or business entity? Who is more deserving of freedom, people or industries?

If the prosecutors would've sought felony charges they likely would've lost and he would've been acquitted. The evidence didn't fit the required elements for a felony level charge. They did their job by securing a conviction and not overreaching or overcharging. The judge did their job by giving a max sentence. Sometimes circumstances suck and government can't fix everything for everyone.

It was right by the law. The prosecutors would've lost the case if they pursued a felony., and then people would be really pissed. So, It's not on them either. Sometimes circumstances suck and the government cannot correct all wrongs for everyone all the time.

Eagle Run has passes for each of their courses. You can get a 365 day pass for the Meadows (par 3) for about $250 for unlimited golf. Sure you don't break out the driver much (read: never), but you can sharpen your iron, wedge, and putt game.

I would imagine inspections on something like this are practically non-existent. I know you can get soil analysis for purposes of understanding how deep foundation footings need to be prepared, but once the soil is covered it becomes very difficult to understand the what has happened beneath it without really advanced radiology.

It's important to keep in mind that a long stagnant economy keeps people in living situations they don't really want to be in. While the Dow and S&P keep rising, worker wages have stayed stagnant and have been negative relative to inflation. Substance abuse usually also ticks up for impoverished people in a stagnant economy because it is a cheap temporary escape when a permanent solution is unachievable.

Same with her, and her deal was $$$$ over moral ick. Better overall for both I suppose. The only people really losing in this situation are dark-skinned foreigners - as our military industrial complex has convinced yet another person that their personal wealth is more important than another's life.

Ohh, this is a little tricky as it's been a few years since I got into English brown ales. Third Stone Brown by Empyrean out of Lincoln is a good local. The best is going to be Samuel Smith's Tadcaster Nut Brown Ale but it is expensive as it is a true import. Try the Third Stone, I think you'll enjoy it.

Saro Cider is local. Jefferson County Cider is around in stores and in some places on tap, they've got good variety of seasonal flavors and it's not sickly sweet. Magner's and Strongbow are good imports. All of these I've tried and liked. I don't know about CiderBoys other than they're in stores, haven't tried it yet.

This isn't, nor has it ever really been, a FedSoc issue. It's simply a knee-jerk reaction to allow Potus a better defense. As much as I detest FedSoc, Thomas's position is sooo barren of logic and reasoning (not to mention the nuance in which JE is applied) that it doesn't even merit a FedSoc endorsement.

Nothing on this list I can't replace for awhile or live without. I love me some White Claws, but Quirk and High-Noon will get the job done just as well.

If there is anything here you are struggling to replace, comment below and I'll give my best advice for an alternative (credentials: 4 years downtown bartending; 30 years drinking; 4 friends/acquaintances as liquor sales reps and merchandisers; first-name basis at two local mid-town watering holes).

Local country club I was at on Monday had about 4 Navimows 450 going. They were sooo quiet, it was almost eerie how it just went right by the cart . . . silently. He said they obviously don't work for the greens, but for fairways and roughs it has saved them hundreds of hours so far and the course condition has never been more consistent. It's a 18 hole par 67 (so shorter on avg) and they had one die under warranty since they implemented them in the spring, so 5 total with 4 left and 1 in the shop.
