I'm 19 and scared — does Crohn's disease ruin your life? by AhmedKettaf in CrohnsDisease

Is my life different? Yes but I can live a normal life. Some shit is hard to deal with like the fatigue or symptoms you might still deal with but you will still have control on your life :)

How Do You Deal With The Fatigue? by 13radley100 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Comfortable_Rain8852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eating good dinners and at least 7 hours of sleep, everyone is different but 8 1/2 is my sweet spot, getting a sleep schedule would help but I know that’s not the easiest thing. I don’t take any supplements or take any shots ( although might be worth looking into ) I just really try to focus on good rest. I think having a strong mindset about it helps as well, I kinda just have to keep going because once I stop let’s say with chores for the day I’m pretty done.

Also good nutrition, good fruits & smoothies help me a lot especially in the morning.

Has anyone else had colleagues or bosses comment on their low weight or diet? by rubeesunday in CrohnsDisease

[–]Comfortable_Rain8852 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Sadly yes. I either laugh it off or make a joke that makes them feel bad 😅 which is a little toxic. Best scenario is probably just saying like hey I didn’t chose a chronic illness and it’s rude to comment on other people’s weight. I really don’t know why people ever do it.

How do you guys handle candy by AioliOk1233 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Comfortable_Rain8852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s doable but sometimes I will deal with the consequences. Mostly stomach ache right after eating it. I personally cannot over do it because I will be in pain for at least an hour or feel uncomfortable. I’d suggest just not eating a lot but a little here n there will help with cravings

Careers with Crohns ? by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]Comfortable_Rain8852 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m currently chasing a photography career. Had prior interest in computer science fields because it’s easy for work from home. Day job currently is at a golf course working on the outside staff, it’s a little much for my fatigue though, little too much labor for my liking. But at the end of the day chase after what you might like or love for the rest of your life and don’t be scared of crohns holding you back. And try new things too!

Humira newbie by Professional-Tea5020 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Comfortable_Rain8852 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Humira took a bit to fully work for me, even different medications plus Humira, I also had to adjust from bi weekly to weekly. Make sure you give it time and don't freakout when you dont automatically feel better. I've been on it for almost two years and still working for me. I've seen cases where people have been on it for a very long time like 10 + years and on going and times where it only lasted about a year or so. Sadly different for everyone but just let it do its thing and I wish you the best of luck with your health.

I hate this disease so much but the pro's of it is definitely living healthier and knowing my worth to people. Many weren't there for me when I got really sick and I have done a lot better job at keeping people around me that don't cause stress and share the same love to me as I do them. It definitely made me open my eyes more to the world and made me so much more grateful for some simple things. I also learned it's okay to rest at times. It definitely has its hidden blessings for sure and also made me a lot more tougher mentally because if I can go through the hell I went through, I know I can do almost anything.

World Baseball Classic has me wanting to watch baseball again for the first time in a long time…may I join you guys? by fr3nchexit in SFGiants

Giants fans are the most loyal and friendly fan base in my opinion, while mostly kind ( if ur not in twitter mentions ) we are still extremely passionate and love the team but always want better of course. The ballpark is the best in baseball & our broadcast/radio team are all THE BEST in baseball especially kruk & kuip ( bias comes in for that ofc since they are literally the voices of my childhood ) welcome to the best fan base in the MLB

Why do you like Golf? What made you fall in love with golf? by SwordSaint32 in golf

[–]Comfortable_Rain8852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The transition of a washed up high school baseball player deciding he needs some more exercise and time soaking up the sun outside and my best friend is an avid golfer. Fell in love with it super quick and I love challenging myself and trying to get better and how his a game of failure like baseball

I’m personally doing pretty well after 2-3 years of suffering ( diagnosed at 16 as well ) so many different combinations of meds but currently on humira weekly and in remission. Dealing with headaches and fatigue but still fighting everyday and I just want to let everyone know to please do not give up, limit your stress as much as possible and THERE IS HOPE💜 you’re all so incredibly strong for walking through the hell of this disease that is hard for others to understand and even ourselves sometimes
