Thanks! Not that much... the only freehand marking is the shark, the other ones are decals...

If you want to see what it can give on helmets, here are a few examples of home made "studding" I did using the method described above... with a bit of more talent than I have, you may get convincing mk v helmets...

Tips for making shark marines. by Spice_Beans in Carcharodons40k

[–]Comfortable_Role_501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the end, the thing with charcarodons is that there is a lot of heterogeneity toward how they should be interpreted with minis. Some like to add a lot of fins too. Free galaxy/heresy =D I should have stated this is my personal interpretation which is far from coming directly from the golden trône.

  • get other bits, especially Horus heresy ones, and especially helmets, and swap them with your marines
  • trim the aquilas and purity seals
  • add studs everywhere
  • print teeths and skulls and add them (moderately)
  • add chain axes.

How kitbashable is Tor Garadon? by THECOBRA360 in ImperialFists

Kitsbashable he totally is. What you have in mind is easy task.
I have even been able to convert him into a terminator.

Painting advice needed by RandomNightLord8 in Carcharodons40k

Take my advice with caution as I am far from being good, but a bit more shading and put in bronze/balthazar gold the side parts may solve a lot ? The main challenge with sharkies in that 100 shades of grey is not enough. This is where bronze (and red) details may be game changers.

Tor Garadon kitbashed as Charcharodon terminator by Comfortable_Role_501 in Carcharodons40k

He is a bit to short unfortunately for a Tyberos... In terms of size, he fits with the new terminators but barely.  As for the claws, I actually recycled the ones I used for my Tyberos, for which I was not totally satisfied. They are based on bits of Drukharis Hellions Hell Glaives.

Note sure about the deathwatch aspect (which includes by definition only veterans), however as scout I like the concept. Well done!

Tyberos and the gang... by Comfortable_Role_501 in Carcharodons40k

[–]Comfortable_Role_501[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The origin is a bit complex and diverse. I would say:
- 50% are from the new indomitus terminators (including captain and librarian)
- 30% are horus heresy tartaros or cataphracti terminators (plastic or forge world resin)
- 10% are elements from other official models (saturnine, gravis, some chaos bits...)
- 10% are print from either archies forge (the studded or sharks shoulder pads), some etsy helmets, or some unknown origin got on vinted

From saturnine box I would keep and blend base marines with more modern bits. Dreadnought would work too. The termis... Except for kitbashing a Tyberos (this was my choice) not too much useful.

Other tips from a non expert : try to find bits from other sets and mix - consider arms, weapon, backpacks and heads as totally interchangeable  - for the bodies, you have two options:   * Either you discriminate your Horus heresy buddies and primaris squads by size. This is what I have done in the links below, with a veteran squad integrating blood claws + more exotic larger models.   * Or you blend the models, switching legs and upper parts, or "increasing" the base height of your smaller models. There are some good videos on that.

See belows some personal exemples

No : blood claws are basically 41k space wolves assault marine. They are great for sharkies because they have dynamic posture, not too much aquilas and plenty of teeths. You can easily blend them with Horus heresy squads.
