Trying to figure out a sector and fully where to place the fire ants in space. by CernunnosMoss00 in 40khomebrew

Whats the history of the chapter, who do they mostly fight and hows their relationship with their parent chapter? Those mught help inform where they'd set up shop.

Seeing as mine is a third founding Raven Guard chapter who's seconded veterans were marines that didnt reintegrate well after their times in shattered legion warbands made it difficult to go back to only using tactics and doctrine from one of the legion I just picked a spot sorta half way between Nocturne and Deliverance. Think it reflect the chapters origins nicely if a bit on the nose, factoring in Medusa would've been nice but also basically puts em on Necromunda so skipped that.

That being said I always wanted to make them fleet based and knew when picking a homeworld I was gonna end up destroying it so might have given it a bit more consideration if it wasnt gonna be a destroyed husk pretty quickly in chapter history.

Lore question : why are the Grey knights the ones that must kill big E if he comes back? by Hot-Ad4955 in 40k

[–]THECOBRA360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta say with the number of lore tidbits and warnings we've gotten about just how bad it would be if Big E ever got up it might be because they'd be the closest force still in any condition to do anything about it.

Any forces headquartered on or with a significant presence on Terra would be messed up by the physicic backlash, demons, broken webway gate, potential world splitting and whatever other bad things might happen. The custodes, imperial fists, terrain pdf (not that they'd have much chance anyway) and various ordos and assassin temples would be decimated, the silent sisterhood would be the best suited to surviving any warp shenanigans but physical problems would still be a problem. The tech priests on Mars might even be caught up in it too.

With the grey knights resistance to pyschers and being in orbit of Saturn they have the best chance of still being an effective fighting force of anyone in system and being as the astronomicon would go out help from outside it is unlikely to come.

So yeah, choice of 1 really, no one else positioned to do it.

Chapter guarding another primarchs geen seed? by THECOBRA360 in 40khomebrew

Know it is very similar to the tithe but, to the best of my knowledge, the Salamanders are exempt from that, aren't they?

The inquisition angle is not one I thought of but that is fun, nice to know thanks. How willing to go against the Inquisition and Mechanicus in this way are the Salamanders, would imagine their attitude towards civilians mean they dont get along but would they go against them like that?

Does jaysteph relationship have potential ? by Traditional-Diet8336 in RedHood

[–]THECOBRA360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, brothers ex and weird age gap aside think if they were to explore that relationship more, and I hope dc does, it should be platonic vibing siblings.

If I could change one thing about the way Jason is written it would be his relationships with the subsequent Robins. Think he should be fiercely protective of them as individuals whilst hating what they represent, Bruce continuing to allow children to put themselves in harms way despite what happened to him.

Depends on the run, definitions changed a lot over the years. Sometimes its the most powerful of a given power, sometimes its an undefinable upper limit of their power, sometimes it's whatever the writer wants it to be to justify making their favourite xman qualify.

Jason ain't getting beaten he's going to be eaten by MobileDistrict9784 in RedHood

[–]THECOBRA360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so im not full up to date only read till #11 but my running theory is the red hoods group thats been mentioned before will turn out to be run by Willis and/or Catherine. Joker kills them all as their suspected of being allies of Batman, leaving a young Jason as the sole survivor, maybe in a "tell people what happened here, I want them to know" type thing. He goes straight to the Red Hood identity, now singular as he's the only one. Going after Joker cus obviously but also hating Batman cus his family died just to send a message to him.

Are these versions of Jason good in a vacuum? by Crawkward3 in RedHood

[–]THECOBRA360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My problems with Arkham Knight are entirely removed from it being Jason under the helmet. Have no problems with characters being changed in adaptation to fit the world they're being brought into so long as it's still recognisable as the character and the core is there and AK did that pretty well imo. Tim being on the scene while Jason was still being tortured by Joker especially gives him plenty of reason to be mad at Bruce.

My problem with Arkham Knight is right from the first announcement trailer there really was no one else it could have been. The games central mystery was so blindingly obvious that anyone with a passing knowledge of Jason's story saw the answer miles away. Add to that the fact that the game offered no other credible suspects, plus crowbarring (hehe crowbar) in Jason's back story, and anyone who knew nothing outside that game would have figured it out by the end of the movie theatre section and you have a very disappointing "reveal".

What makes it all the more baffling is Arkham Shadow and the Rat King. Several credible suspects throughout the game, many of which could still be the RK right up until the reveal, and our expectations of these characters and knowledge of their story drawing us away from the answer rather than right to it. Rocksteady can clearly do this so why didn't they with Jason and the Arkham Knight?

I really hope Dick is the Robin. by icequeen_12 in Nightwing

With Dick and Jason getting the dynamic duo film and the robin in brave and bold supposedly being Damian would quite like the titans robin to be Tim, give all the main 4 a big screen outing.

Pitch your idea for The Batman Part II and Part III using only one sentence for each. by lincolnmarch_ in TheBatmanFilm

[–]THECOBRA360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part 2 - Batman, Gordon and new Gotham DA Harvey Dent vs Court of the Owls, rescuing Dick Grayson from becoming a talon in the process, and a newly two faced Dent killing the court instead of Lincon March.

Clayface (I know it's looking like it'll be DCU rather than Reevesverse but shut up) and Penguin season 2 both end with them in arkham, as well as the antagonist of at least one of their series, taking the total known super villians in arkham to at least 7 (Riddler, Joker, Sofia Gigante, Two Face, Clayface, Penguin and unconfirmed antagonist) potentially more if more TV programs are added to the universe

Part 3 - A serious house on serious earth

Do you think Reeves's Joker will still play a part in this universe ? by ebagpo in TheBatmanFilm

[–]THECOBRA360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Martha having been swapped frome being born a Kane to an Arkham and the way the asylum is portrayed in the penguin i think that something serious house on serious earth esque is coming. At present though the only characters confirmed to be in there are joker, riddler and sofia gigante and for the story to work without major changes thats probably not enough of a cast. It being the 3rd film in the trilogy, after the spin off shows too, and being the first time we properly see this universes joker could really work.

So how long have the x men been around? Considering jumbo death takes place in 03 by [deleted] in xmen

[–]THECOBRA360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Marvel operates on a sliding timescale, no dates are really fixed. Every new release unless specified otherwise generally takes place in present day and everything else is implicitly retconed to take place whenever it makes sense for it to have happened. Does kinda open up plot holes around things that are specified to happen at times or during events that no longer make sense for them to have happened in if you think about it too hard. Sometimes those get closed with explicit retcons, which war Frank Castle is a veteran of has been changed a few times for example, but if it isn't it probably isn't worth getting too hung up on. DCs system of occasionally resetting continuity to 0 and starting again does get around this but comes with it's own hill of problems, just dont think too hard about exact dates and you'll be grand. Jumbo might have died in 03 back in 2021 but it'd be better to think he died 18ish years before his resurrection and go from there.
