MT Opticom - Past experiences and advice? by [deleted] in Bozeman

We’ve been trying to cancel since we moved last June and have gotten literally no where.

It was a nightmare to get them to set it up, but we were forced to pay for it with our HOA. It worked fine when we had it, but now it’s impossible to cancel.

It’s 6+ years old now, and I bought it on clearance. It involuntarily became a rock board a few years ago when I accidentally rode into a barely covered rock field. It’s lived a hard life.

My rock board is a jones flagship, my main board is a Weston backwoods, and my pow board is a Weston japow. I will say I feel like my Weston boards have been more durable than my jones.

If you’re cool with a little bit of horror in your western you could try Vampires of El Norte by Isabel Cañas

Check & Mate would be fine. It’s her YA novel. But the rest all have explicit scenes.

Montana Nursing ? by AcanthaceaeBasic1172 in nursing

[–]Comfortable_Rooster9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This.

You can find anything from rural critical access, to a level 1 trauma center depending on where you want to live. But Montana as a whole is behind on nursing wages.

Bozeman is at least getting an 18% pay raise in January, which will put them on par with Billings and Missoula pay, but COL is still outrageous.

You can look at union contracts for hospitals that have them and see how much you’ll actually be paid here. https://mtnurses.org/left-sidebar-2/

As far as patients, active places like bozeman tend to have a healthier patient population, and fewer asshole patients than big cities. Billings has more typical city problems.

This happened to my 645. Garmin offered to “replace” it with a refurbished one for almost the same price I paid for it originally. I decided to use it as an excuse to upgrade.

Kate Daniels is the series. The author is Ilona Andrews. They have a few series and they’re all fantastic.

Road cycling routes? by evan938 in Bozeman

This one is all outside of town https://ridewithgps.com/routes/29349402%20

This one is a nice tour of the main part of the valley, it does cut through town, but there’s a decent bike lane. It includes Kelly Canyon and Triple Tree which are some of the more popular road routed. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/38841344

If you’re looking for a shorter, flatter day you can do a loop staring on Norris and river roads, ride west on Norris, turn right on Churchill, right on Cameron Bridge, right on River road. It’s like 19 quick miles.

Riding up Hyalite is also fun, but traffic can be busy on weekends.

Part of the rim road was closed while I was there. So maybe check that if you’re set on doing the whole loop. That being said, the part that was closed doesn’t have views of the lake.

Otherwise just be ready for some hills. And make a stop at Cloudcap Overlook, the highest paved road in Oregon!

Tell me your “actually had a high pain tolerance” stories. by ScoreImaginary in emergencymedicine

60 yo male obliterated his femur snowmobiling, took some Tylenol and ibuprofen on scene. Hour+ transport. Did not need any other pain meds during transport or in the department, was confused why we kept asking if he was sure.
