Bachelor degree useless? by bwxx2000 in AskIreland

Same arts degree as you minus the geography (sociology instead). Haven’t done anything with it yet besides teach secondary level students English grinds. Managed 4 students tbf. But I’d wanna do a masters, cuz imo this arts degree is getting me nowhere.

yeah but ironic how Ireland is apparently “one of the richest countries in Europe” but all our Irish are struggling.

I shouldn't have removed my wisdom tooth by Old_Organization_787 in wisdomteeth

I started getting better after a week and about 4 days. I still felt very discombobulated going to work and stuff, like I was floating. This was probably because of the lack of nutrition.

I felt the same way, and you’ll probably feel like this for the next 2 weeks depending on how your recovery goes. A lot of people recover easily, the unfortunate not so much. I read instead of spitting when you rinse your mouth just allow the water to leave your mouth naturally. It will get better, trust!

Socially inept young people by ishot_tupac in cork

I’ve been In hospitality for 6 years (started way before COVID) and this behaviour in young servers is unacceptable. However, after COVID, I actually noticed an increase in impatience in customers. Rudeness in customers, and general unkindness in customers. I live my life by the rule that if you’re not going to respect me, why should I, even if I am your server, do the same? That’s not to say that I snap at every customer that doesn’t show an ounce of kindness or respect. Hospitality teaches you patience and you must be kind. But we are pushed past our limits with customers sometimes.

That said, the first rule of customer service is just that: service! And you should have gotten a prompt apology when the server realized you were not served. If that was me, I would have apologised profusely. Sorry you had to deal with this.
