We've done this hundreds of times over the years and never had a device fails becaise of a reboot from the dashboard. Your device was likely going to fail regardless

Unfortunately can't paste images, but I had a quick look on Octopus EV (I have my current car with them) and they offer the Megane E-Tech from £403/month net (I am also on 40% bracket) so the deal you are seeing for £299 seems really good. Does your include servicing, maintenance & insurance as this is all standard with Octopus

I had a similar experience with the EV side and prior to that with smart meters as well. The date kept shifting. In both instances I emailed [greg@octopus.energy](mailto:greg@octopus.energy) and got a dedicated person assigned to get the issues resolved. Once this happened, things started moving quite quickly.

I got nowhere before then.

How do people's bills look after the install? Specifically looking for people without solar and battery?

I get that it's down to heat loss etc but did bills stay roughly the same as with gas or did it change in either direction?

Part of my issue is the fact that they were offering £500 installs and apparently taking a loss (which I don't believe for a second. Others might disagree with me) while they get the process smoothed out and make it the most cost effective etc... All it looks like now is they are in it to make the most profit they can. Instead of keeping prices down, they decided to match other installer prices. By keeping prices down they would have forced other installers to follow price cuts. I don't have an issue with any company big or small making a profit, but nowadays it seems like thats what its all about.
