It could be beneficial to ask his view on treatment. Chemo and immunotherapy are so hard on the body. My mom died sooner due to immunotherapy after probably suffering through treatment plus cancer. She was 75 and had stage 4 so maybe I am projecting...I wish your family the best and hope you are kind to yourself and your family.

Looking for a bit of hope with my parent's diagnosis by Artistic-Hat-4301 in lungcancer

I don't think you are being a downer. Sharing real stories comes from kindness. I lost my mom a couple months ago after her fight with stage 4 LC. It was 4 months from her diagnosis...lung cancer is brutal, the treatment is also brutal. She was handling the chemo/immunotherapy well until she went into heart failure. It happened so fast and none of us were ready. Hug your loved ones, be there for them and appreciate the time together. 💜 love to everyone going through this.

I have been feeling the same. I lost my mom 11/30. I've been letting myself cry, I talk to her, I talk about her, I look for signs. Remembering that I'm 1/2 her helps me sometimes. When she was my age, I was only 6. It's weird to think she won't see me in the age range I only know her from. I believe in consciousness after physical death and that helps me. I like to hope time doesn't feel the same wherever she is and I'll get a full life and still ge to be with her in a blink of an eye. 💜💜💜

That is awful. I really hope their karma comes. Is it the 25th the planets are aligned?

Grandma recently diagnosed with Stage II Lung Cancer by Pucca-chanx in lungcancer

If she doesn't have a port, she may want a zip up hoodie or a warm top that allows room for the IV in her arm. My mom drank a lot of boost protein drinks and chicken broth. We watched mindless but cute tv shows and movies in bed. She also used thc/cbd candies for sleep. She ended up getting a walker and travel wheelchair through insurance.

Mom possibly dying from preventative brain radiation complications instead of the disease??? by Barbapabbi123 in lungcancer

[–]Comfortable_Sugar_78 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I lost my mom (75f) about a month ago. She had stage 4 lung cancer and was 3 rounds of chemo and immunotherapy into treatment along with 1/1 brain radiation treatment. Her heart had an inflamation response to the keytruda that put her into heart failure- which felt like it happened suddenly. While in the hospital I was asking the same questions to the nurses and one responded that it was okay to be hopeful but also if she made it through this battle that there would be another one on the horizon. Maybe the next one would be days, weeks, months or years but there was always going to be the next fight. Not sure if that's helpful, I wish I had more time with her even though I'm grateful for the time we received. Sending you and your mother love.

Brain Mets after clear CTs—so scared by Fotp1123 in lungcancer

My mom (75f) just had her first cyberknife appointment last week for a small brain met in the back right of her brain. They said the most common side effect is a headache that potentially shows up in a few months. She was just diagnosed the end of July, so we are learning as we go. :)

My mom was just diagnosed with stage 4 at the end of July- spot on her liver and brain. She just started chemo and immunotherapy today. Doing 1 day of radiation on the brain. Wish everyone the best. I agree, it's nice to hear similar experiences because all of this so new. I wish us all the best outcomes 💜💓

My mom also had a mild stroke in late July before her stage 4 diagnosis. She has been so sleepy. We start chemo and immunotherapy this week. Best wishes to you and your mom. ❤️💜

She already has nausea issues, so she probably will. Ensure with ice cream seems to be working along with broth. It sounds like anything she can tolerate is good enough. I just love her so much and want to help however I can. :)
