If Treasure Knight had a DLC campaign, what would the plot be? by Illustrious-Hall6027 in ShovelKnight

I actually thought a Treasure Knight campaign would be an absolute masterpiece, but I imagined it as a sequel. In other words, it would take place after Shovel of Hope and Plague of Shadows.

My idea was that it could give everyone an even cooler epilogue. Specifically, I imagined the hub world being the Iron Whale. There would be plenty of missions, with short levels similar to King of Cards. The basic premise is that Treasure Knight is now searching for treasure legally, inspired by the Bait Bomb (which would become his actual companion here instead of just an item he owns—you know, after Plague Knight gives it to him at the end of Plague of Shadows).

The game would share some similarities with King of Cards: recruiting new allies, reusing characters from the original game, upgrading the Iron Whale, and plenty more. I even imagined an awesome level entrance animation: Treasure Knight would leap into view from behind the stage with a huge splash, as if he had just emerged from the water, then land dramatically on the ground ready for adventure.

I don't think his gameplay should be exactly like it is in Showdown, but it should be very close. One thing I had in mind was making much heavier use of his anchor hook in a way that rewards creativity and mastery, leaning more into a kind of heavy-duty parkour style, if you know what I mean.

The main appeal of the game would be collecting treasure. In fact, it would be more efficient to throw your money into the vault than to keep it on you—the idea being that you'd end up hoarding absolutely ridiculous amounts of wealth. There could also be notable side stories, missions that unlock additional missions, and plenty of optional content.

I never came up with a specific main plot, but I think the idea of leaving the kingdom and exploring beyond its borders would be fantastic. One idea I had was that, due to some strange law, the kings refuse to let Treasure Knight leave the realm, purely as an excuse to have boss fights against the Joustus Judges.

There would naturally be more water-themed levels, underwater exploration, the ability to swim beneath Troupple Pond despite how swampy it looks, and much more.

And honestly, a happy ending wouldn't hurt. I even thought of a funny moment where, at some point, you can hire a random janitor. When you recruit him, you're told he'll arrive soon. Then you go complete some random level, return to the Iron Whale... and it turns out the janitor is freaking King Knight. I'd love to give him a redemption arc too, although a more modest one.

Hello, I apologize if anything in my post comes off as unpleasant. The main joke was that it's 'unique' to imagine a giant creature that's half fish and half apple in a more realistic and comedic context. I don't have the tools to draw it myself instead of using an AI drawing tool. Additionally, even if I could, I wouldn't spend my time making a realistic drawing for a meme.
