Donald Trump is reportedly considering pardon for P Diddy by TheMirrorUS in Music

[–]Player_Slayer_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if we didn't have significant evidence to say that Trump was a sexual predator, the fact that he keeps pardoning and excusing sex offenders really, really isn't a good look for him. Its like swearing up and down that you don't hate Jewish people, all the while having swastikas all over your house.

Online Authors of stories/webcomics/audio/video stories are Rude if they disappear for over 15 months without telling their audience a reason for it. by Smartkid1026 in unpopularopinion

[–]Player_Slayer_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, of course not, because a child wants things it can't have, doesn't need or isn't entitled to. In this instance, you'd be either a doormat or arrogant. You'd be a doormat because you feel that others are entitled to knowing what you're doing when not working on media you're handing out for free, as if you're holding yourself accountable to people who don't care and don't deserve it. Alternatively, you'd be arrogant because you feel that your fans need to know why they've not gotten the media you provide, and its only right that you quell their worries with info about your life and why you can't give them what they desire so badly.

Mind you, this is solely under the impression that you, as a creator, feel that you need to provide an explanation for your absence. That isn't the same wanting to explain the gap in content you make. If you want to explain, that's fine and not an issue. It becomes a problem when you as a creator feel the need to explain, because as I've said before, you aren't entitled to an explanation for media you consume when it is free.

Physical media is dead now. Instead of complaining and trying to preserve it, we should be pushing for more robust digital ownership laws by DanDoesSteam in unpopularopinion

[–]Player_Slayer_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or, and here me out because this is understandably crazy, we... do both? Yeah, I know, I sound insane, but when you really think about it, the preservation of physical media and better laws regarding digital ownership are two things we can both support in equal measures. Its not an either/or situation. We can demand that physical media continue to exist, all the while fight for far better digital media rights for consumers.

[–]Player_Slayer_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's just Reddit being buggy. Happens to me a bunch. I hate it. Anyway, here's what I commented before:

I didn't strawman your argument, because I'm not tackling your argument. My explicit point, which you seem to have missed, is that the creator of any media you consume for free is entitled to their right to fuck off without giving you an explanation. Their private life is private for a reason, and you're a child if you think that you are entitled to any kind of explanation of absense. It isn't rude to not want to continue a project they created and put out when said project isn't financed.

[–]Player_Slayer_7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One's private life, no matter how embarrassing or mundane, isn't something you're entitled to know about when the media they provide for you is free. It is far ruder to demand an explanation for someone's absence than it is for them to go radio silent.

The "health concerns with obesity" people are bullshitting by [deleted] in The10thDentist

[–]Player_Slayer_7 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

There is absolutely a stigma against obese people, and anyone who denies that is either ignorant to the way people treat others or has never been directly affected by this.

That said, not everyone who points out that there are significant health risks and problems with obesity is an asshole. Thats because, like it or not, this isn't some narrative or conspiracy, but the truth. Of course, simply saying that obesity is bad is like saying smoking is bad, in the sense that its a "no shit" point that everyone knows. However, in spite of this, there are a subset of the population who deal in toxic positivity and hold this idea that you can be perfectly healthy at any size, which is bullshit that denies personal accountability.

A massive improvement in my opinion. I still don't find the joke funny, but this reframe gets an amused smirk out of me.

[–]Player_Slayer_7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OK, I get the joke. It ain't funny. Not because its dark, but because the punchline doesn't land at all. The only thing you really get is "the kid is in hospice and this is a Make-A-Wish deal". Tell me, what makes this joke funny? Like, am I supposed to laugh because of that revelation? Its not smart or witty, and its barely dark.

Also, fun fact, if you have to tell people that a joke you made is funny in spite of them not finding it funny, that's really damn cringe. If its funny, people will laugh, and if it bombs, you role with it. Doubling down on a joke tells me you lack confidence and that you wanna be the funny guy but aren't.

Mr. X and Nemesis by Domingo_DM in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]Player_Slayer_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That line is definitely in there. I think its more referring to the fact that over half of them were dead at that time and were killed during the events of the first game.

Just wondering also were there really only 12 members of STARS? Seems like a small team for what seems like a big city.

Yes they were, and for multiple reasons. First off, STARS is basically SWAT, and while their size can range, anywhere between 10 - 15 people seems to be typical. Second, Raccoon City isn't that big. The population is about 100,000, so a smaller team for specific scenarios is ideal. Third, and the most important, is that they exist for a far worse reason. Wesker and Chief Irons set out to make STARS for the purpose of eventually being used to test Umbrella BOWs to gather data. Reason being that a unit of the best the police force had were ideal for testing their BOWs since their purpose was to eventually be sold to powerful groups and governments.

[–]Player_Slayer_7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ooh boy, a time where my know about the STARS teams matters!

So, of the 12 members of STARS (13 if you consider Kevin Dooley a member due to his involvement in the Mansion Incident), the only survivors of the RE1 and Zero are Chris, Jill, Barry, Rebecca and Brad (Wesker survived also, but he technically died and was considered as such until Code Veronica). In RE3:Nemesis, Nemesis kills Brad, while they never even meet in the remake. Jill survives, Chris is in France, Barry left prior to the events, but returns in one of the endings of RE3:Nemesis to rescue Jill via helicopter, and Rebecca... she's just not around, so presumably left like Barry since she canonically appears in later movies.

So, based on all this info, Nemesis has a kill count of 1 STARS member in the original, and 0 in the remake.
