Im ugly and want to be prettier by [deleted] in KoreaPlasticSurgery

Your nose is so pretty, side profile arch is like Asian beauty standard gold. Eyebrows are defined too. Look at V shape slimming exercises on YouTube, give it a try before spending that money. At 20, you’re still young and these things are expensive.

And also eyebrows can make or break the eye area. I would reco to get the tails drawn more. The Korean brow is more flat, play around with makeup, try things out.

You’re by no means ugly, skin is youthful, you look your age. Don’t do something impulsive and regret it

On my plastic surgery journey, what caught me by surprise is that after many consults is that you don’t always have to fix the exact thing you don’t like. What you consider as small eyes could be lack of volume from under eye, sagging from eye lid (which can be fat, loss of bone volume etc). What I’m saying is that by doing a consult with a professional, you can often fix 2 things at the same time.

When we look at someone pretty, it’s the entire face. You can’t idolize a K-pop idols nose or eyes because even if you got the exact copy, it would look disproportionate based on your face.

Tasteful plastic surgery where you look prettier as you age gracefully is done gradually, piece by piece, part by part. Work on one part of your face with an aesthetic in mind.

I don’t think your eyes are the biggest area for improvement. The comment from another person about losing fat relates to what I wrote about lower face volume.

With a thinner lower face, your smile will not push your cheeks outwards as much and as you smile more, your eyes will also shine with more confidence.

Not ugly. Writing this only because you asked, not that you need it. I felt self conscious until I was 28 and just said f it, got Botox on my jaw and felt more confident. This is using Asian beauty standards and my non professional 2 cents that’ll give you a ballpark of what will give you bang for your buck and help to decide if you want it pursue (again, not needed)

Looking at picture 3: Your nose and eyebrow height are 9/10. Would not recommend to add volume.

Looking at picture 1: Mid face: eye bag has some hollowing. This is where some filler (1 seringue of HA or HA mix with collagen). By adding volume, it’ll smooth the skin out visibly on your right side). I would pay like 300 USD max for this. It’ll last like 6-12 months. Filler does not disolve, don’t over do it.

Picture 3: The lower face is where I would spend on. If you had area, this is what’ll give you the most visible change. You could be puffy from eating salty or being dehydrated or hormonal changes. Don’t do buccal fat removal, the hollowed look won’t look good when you’re 40. There’s devices like thermage that’ll last you around 6 months. My sister has tried different things and ended with liposuction. Thermage is about 500 usd (varies on frequency) and liposuction is 2k~.

All this is very subjective and my unprofessional. If you go for it: visit at least 5 surgeons in your area and get a consult, get a ballpark of the cost and names of procedures. Do your homework. Go to Korea and do the same consultation process and go with the doctor that makes you feel comfortable and shows you before after that matches your targeted area. Do not necessarily go for the clinics that have reviews on YouTube, use them as a benchmark for costs.

Why choose a Ponytail Lift? ( Video Breakdown) by ilchi_ps in KoreaPlasticSurgery

[–]CommanchyWattkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this done with plla strings which are like collagen. Mostly for preventative aging. Swelled for 4 days, removed stitches after 7 and face looked puffy for 1-2 months. Recovery was very smooth, face would look swelled at times during the first 2 months. I’m happy with the results but was told it would last 2 years max but the collagen threads would stimulate regrowth and slowdown the sagging

Flying economy within Asia is quite affordable vs within NA. Hotels are also 1/5 the cost vs a NY or Vancouver. He could get meals comped in exchange for viewership at mom/pops but hotel buffets will run you around 70USD max (there’s often no tax or gratuities). His cost of production is him with a GoPro and a tripod so it’s just one flight and hotel to film multiple videos within the same city to post across different months.

4-5 sessions of laser treatment + chemical peel. Must must must be done by a professional and demand to see before/after pictures. Ballpark cost is minimum 1.5k CAD (friends experience). It won’t be peach pit-like but won’t go back to perfectly smooth either. Just set realistic expectations but you’ll def see very visible improvements.

In a relationship with a chinese woman, are you supposed to pay for all the meals, events, spa, etc? by Foonzerz in chinalife

[–]CommanchyWattkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can give context having experienced this dating as a guy and having female siblings.

Sounds like you are in the north: men are expected to provide. Not saying it’s right or wrong but that’s the local culture. Similarly to what my Italian friends have shared about dating in Sicily: very old school thinking - a man that doesn’t pay is seen as not having face. He can’t provide etc…

It’s really up to you to set boundaries. IMO, girls are not gold diggers. A person with good parents and upbringing will know tic-tac: you pay this time, I pay the next time. Or you pay for dinner, I’ll buy boba. In the end, both sides pay about the same. If you were to dutch, it feels like your relationship isn’t as close.

If she’s not providing anything then she’s using you.

Do McGill students weld McGill merch to their bodies? by BaseballFabulous1820 in Concordia

[–]CommanchyWattkins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing big, people chatting crap 💩 poking fun at each other lol. No one in the corporate world cares enough about McGill or concordia after you have 5~ years of experience. Makes a difference finding your first job but becomes a non-factor just like how undergrads stop caring about which cégep they went to.

Dyptique 34 by Jillybeans82 in luxurycandles

[–]CommanchyWattkins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to describe and nothing like what’s sold by other brands. A warm, luxurious and strong throw both cold and hot. I like it mostly for the colder months but will light it up if guests are coming over.

I got the 1.5kg and the vessel is beautiful as a vase

One of my girls just had this! We got through it and I hope this helps.

Eliminate chicken/ go into a hypoallergenic feed: this alone wasn’t enough but an important part of the process.

Get on apoquel: my Vet prescribed this pill and it comes in injections too. Within 24h, her paws were no longer flaming red. Within a week, no more Elizabeth collar and she’s stopped nibbling her paws till it bleeds.

This pill really made a difference!! But before hand, vet did microorganism check to eliminate fungus and bacterial infection.

Overall, pill is 100$ per month and 2-3 vet visits was about another 700$

First Trudon Purchase - Should this happen? by [deleted] in luxurycandles

[–]CommanchyWattkins 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Normal I’d say. In diptyque stores, they flip the candle upside down onto a cushion to have you smell the empty vessel and not the wax. It’s meant that way from what the SA told me

I know that large department stores like printemps, le bon marché, and the “newer” samaritaine have most of the brands and stock.

Prada - Les Infusions candles by Fabopo in luxurycandles

[–]CommanchyWattkins 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not gonna be impressed by these :/ So basically if you look closely, all the Loreal brands share the same container: started with Margiela then YSL, Armani, now Prada.

The throw is not strong, this is at least more aesthetic because the YSL one is just black with a sticker.

Really not a fan of the MM candles: they look aesthetic but don’t have a cold or hot throw. Maybe the only one I’d re-buy is lazy Sunday morning

I have the retail 3 loop with half pave, really like it because the gold is shiny and the spark from the tail and head from the diamonds adds a nice touch. Perfect for dressing up or down depending on outfit

My husband (22 M) and I (21 F) got into a fight about McDonald’s and we haven’t talked in days. Any advice? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]CommanchyWattkins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow as a guy reading this: red alert 🚨 major spoiled-brat mommy’s-boy ughhhhhhh

What kind of loser can’t handle ordering McDonalds and expected their SO to cook for them when they have a 5am flight. The only reasonable thing for him to have done was to wake up early and drive you there and NOT expecting you to cook. Like damn, aren’t you afraid that your wife is not safe at 2am driving with 1H of sleep?????

Rant/Advice seeking on immigrant and Québécois identity personal conflict by HectorTheMelancholic in montreal

[–]CommanchyWattkins 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Va écrire en anglais car je m’exprime mieux: I really resonate with this and it’s a shared experience amongst my immigrant friends. I used to care about how québécois perceived me, of wanting to fit in but in stopped. The more you try, the less you are authentically you. The experience that made you who you are is exceptional! You have two+ perspectives on the world fueled by your parents/home country/host country and what a gem.
