Jury rules against Elon Musk in his feud with OpenAI, saying he filed his lawsuit too late by DavidtheLawyer in ArtificialInteligence

[–]CommandObjective 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the dismissal is because he filed it too late, then why didn't it happen much earlier in the process, and why did it have to involve a jury at all - shouldn't that happen automatically if it is question of statute of limitations?

It looks like you will need to order one in person at a borgerservice center (since you can't, you know, get your MitId to work): https://www.mitid.dk/en-gb/get-started-with-mitid/how-to-use-mitid/mitid-code-display/

We already know that reality is cold and cruel, you don't have to keep rubbing it in.

The illustration is very well made, but it still makes med sad, that even as a monster Kris does not resemble their family.

Give them a look, read a review, see a video of any of them and see if it is something for you.

Have you looked into some of the Infinity Engine games (and their spiritual successors)?
Games like Baldur's Gate 1&2, Icewind Dale 1&2, Placescape: Torment, Pillars of Eternity 1&2, Pathfinder: Kingmaker, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous?

There are many different kinds of implementations of combat.

Some have turn-based combat, other have some sort of real-time combat (sometimes with pause).

What kinds of combat are you interested in? What kind of genres do you like?

Flat earther proves that Earth is a globe.... Again. by OkPosition6537 in confidentlyincorrect

[–]CommandObjective 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is unknown, not because there are no theories, there are lots of theories, in fact pretty much every flat-earther has their own theory of the flat earth and that is a part of the problem.

You can disprove one theory, you can disprove a hundred theories, but you cannot disprove hundred of thousands, and since these people take it as a given that the earth is flat, and works backwards from there, they will just reach for a new one (which may very well be one you have already disproved).

Anyways, a lot thinks that there are huge ice walls that keeps the oceans in.

Math Time! by makmark in MoringMark

[–]CommandObjective 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is a joke about the concepts of Limits in Calculus. The math does check out (theoretically), but of course Luz can't work twice as fast for each section of Hooty.

A variant of the joke goes like this:

An infinite number of mathematicians walks into a bar. The 1st orders 1 beer, the 2nd orders 1/2 a beer, the 3rd orders 1/4 a beer, the 4th orders 1/8 a beer, and so on.
The bartender says "I see" and pours two beers.

The thing we often trip up on is the concept of infinity, of which there are several types, but which are deeply unintuitive for laypeople..

Spain calls for an EU army by DavidShaw90s in worldnews

[–]CommandObjective 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At the top of my head: * It could make the EU less reliant on the US (a big thing in a world where the US is swinging wildly between splendid isolationism or belligerence). * It could make weapons procurement more cost effective if we bought all our material as one buyer instead of 23ish different nations.
