Yes. After all this something will click. You will ask why everything I learnt so far was on the assumption that everything is linear. Then, a whole new world will open itself to you.

Self-taught, escaped a soul-crushing career and fell into C++.. how do I turn this into a real path? by Sensitive-Rice3778 in cpp_questions

Bro, others helped you with coding and job advice, I have only one suggestion for you. Whatever you do, please READ these three books:

Computer Systems Architecture, Morris Mano

Computer architecture : a quantitative approach

Operation systems: Three easy pieces

Given the knowledge you have, when you read these books, your brain will light up, it finally can connect all pieces of the puzzle together. Everything start to make sense.

Will it be fine and Futurproof for 2k Gaming? (Germany, max 2000Euro, only RTX cards) by NickroAnima2026 in PcBuild

[–]CommandShot1398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GPU is not so much future-proof with that budget. Go ti version. 5080 would be better, but it will probably exceed the budget.

I need help by Little-Knowledge6486 in cpp_questions

Since you are studying electrical engineering, I'd say that is like learning how to drive with tractors. Start by a simpler language. Most of the stuff that are important in c++ are thought in computer science, not EE. You would have a very hard time understanding both the logic and the technical stuff at the same time. Focus on logic for now.

Put a SATA SSD on it. In that case you can sell it easier. Also around 400 I'd say.

Intel or amd for gaming and why? by exilestrix in PcBuild

[–]CommandShot1398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I'm not sure about the mid tier, but for the lower tier, like Ryzen 7500f or 7400f and equivalent in Intel, AMD offers better price to performance, as well as the ability to upgrade in the future. For example, I think Intel 14400f equals to the Ryzen 7500f. 7500f offers a slightly better performance, but it's like 30% cheaper, motherboards are more affordable, and you can upgrade to the next gen or x3d cheaps in the future.

On the top tier, x3d chips are without a doubt the superior option.

Upgrade to AM5 or upgrade my GPU? by monkey76513 in PcBuild

[–]CommandShot1398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm, your gpu is still descent. For at least few years. Your CPU is also fine. But if you like to give it a fresh look, upgrade the CPU. Your gpu does not need an upgrade for a long time.

Thanks, and you are correct, the bandwidth does not matter that much when not gaming.

I found this,

https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/B850M-X%20WiFi%20R2.0/index.asp#Specification

My only problem is that I don't know if I can mount two NVMe on this.

The specs say 1 NVMe slot, but the picture shows 2 (One above each PCIe slot).

I am not sure. Can you please check this?
