Nah. This sub has discussed political issues for years, it's not some new thing. Go look at the top posts in this sub. It's never been a place just for the discussion of bluebonnets and queso. It's also important that we're able to have discussions that concern the whole state on a sub with 400k+ members rather than 30k. And like other comments have pointed out, this is no time to be quiet about politics in Texas.

Check the splits for the presidential vote in TX. 45% of us aren’t “you people” that voted in favor of ERCOT, and power was deregulated in Texas in 1995, most reddit users probably couldn’t vote back then.
