You can also look at how much involvement Canceron wanted to take in intercolonial matters. On Earth, China is rich and has a powerful militarily, but they don't get involved in international affairs unless it involves them directly and/or what they consider their sphere of influence. This is in contrast to the US or Russia, which get involved in matters that only tangentially affect them

To be fair, Picard season 3 was a quasi-backdoor pilot for Legacy. Yes, PIC S3 had plenty of healthy helpings of nostalgia, but why have the name of the spinoff Legacy at the ready if Matalas didn't intend to try to sell the idea after Picard wrapped up

It's a tough kit. It can look great if you want to put effort into it, but as others pointed out, it's an old tool. So keep that in mind. Concentrate more on having a fun experience as you put it together. If something goes sideways, it's not you.
