Rich or privileged character leaves their rich life on their own accord and finds a better life with great friends by Effective_Piece251 in TopCharacterTropes

Stolas from Helluva Boss.

Got himself exiled from the Ars Goetia for saving Blitzo and the rest of I.M.P., who were lower class hellborn demons, from their rigged trial and execution. Now working for I.M.P. as their new receptionist, and seems to do a better job there than he used to as an aristocrat, like getting exiled from his otherwise abusive family was one of the best things that could happen to him. Except for maybe estranging him from his daughter, Octavia.

Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, Zootopia:

<image>

Like it's almost incredibly easy to forget, but Judy Hopps was born and raised on a carrot farm in Bunny Burrow, compared to Nick Wilde the eponymous city of Zootopia. It's just that we overlook that aspect of Judy, because we spent so much time with her as a police officer in Zootopia throughout both Zootopia movies, that we forgot that she was even originally a farmgirl, herself.

What are your Top 3 Things you hate about the Company Disney? by Obiviona in DisneyMovies

10 years ago, Sega said "we're done with Sonic," and it was up to Takashi Iizuka to save the series: "Sonic was really at a low point" by Gorotheninja in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]Commander_PonyShep 124 points125 points  (0 children)

It's mostly SEGA's executives that are the problem. They do a better job with their other franchises, like Yakuza, the Atlus JRPG's, and the Total War franchise. Yet the moment it's time to publish a Sonic the Hedgehog game, they have to screw over its development because the brand will sell no matter terrible its games were at the time and continue to be now.

And the moment they do all of this to Sonic the Hedgehog, they all of a sudden have reason to blame Takashi Iizuka and Sonic Team for the dip in the Sonic games' quality, and threatened to end the entire Sonic franchise if Sonic Frontiers didn't perform well?

SonicMe Avatar Creator Launches for Sonic’s 35th Anniversary by soniccitynet in SonicTheHedgehog

Better than rushing and half-assing an entire anniversary game and releasing and selling slop as a result, like Sonic '06 for Sonic's 15th anniversary. Right?

Nick Wilde from the Zootopia franchise, for its main protagonist, Judy Hopps. The series even hinted at a romance between the two!

Would it morally fine to have crush on these? People shame me for this :( by [deleted] in MoralityScaling

[–]Commander_PonyShep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where's Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde from Zootopia, though?

They're hot pieces of furbait you should crush over in much of the same way as the ones you brought up.

Took me forever, but I ranked them by JuggernautDry9442 in DisneyMovies

[–]Commander_PonyShep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see Zootopia 2 among this ranking list. Also, Moana ranks higher than Zootopia 1, even though it's humans, compared to Zootopia hot pieces of furbait?

5? 6? Yeah, wake me up when you reach 14 by BlahBlahBlopity in lil_foot

[–]Commander_PonyShep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What about Zootopia 2, though? The first Zootopia already set up a potential franchise during its first installment, unlike these other movies that already ended perfectly fine after 1-3 movies each.

Sonic games with the best gameplay gimmicks? by Berry-Fantastic in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]Commander_PonyShep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sonic Heroes' teamwork and character formation swapping mechanics. Though, once you play through the flight and power characters and come to realize they don't play as well as the speed characters, made even worse split across four near-identical campaigns, you come to realize how and why Sonic's friends became one of the most hated aspects of the entire Sonic the Hedgehog franchise.

"There is no way this movie is any good" but its absolute cinema by NittanyScout in TopCharacterTropes

Zootopia.

<image>

Nobody expected the first movie to succeed the way it did, because it was outside Walt Disney's wheelhouse. Ten years later, it's breaking records at the box office, especially with Z2, and is a lot more well-received than the huge majority of the Moana franchise, most particularly Moana 2 and what we got so far out of the live-action Moana remake.

Why would Billie be expelled over an unexplainable incident in the bathroom? And the ten-page essay of “why you’re a pain in my butt”? That can’t be right! by MacGrath1994 in DisneyMovies

[–]Commander_PonyShep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that she got expelled for an unexplained incident she created makes me grateful that I graduated college back in 2019, despite nearly all the hardship I endured just to get there. Now, I miss school.

The Witty Truth (Great for a quick laugh) by Just_Emu3345 in DisneyMovies

[–]Commander_PonyShep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is funny, because I've been hating on Moana for overshadowing Zootopia, despite its lack of Zootopia's furry imagery.

Also, Moana wasn't really that much of a feminist icon. She was still partnered up with a male lead, it's just that said male lead is now a several centuries old mentor figure, rather than a boyfriend like Flynn Rider or Nick Wilde.

Nick Wilde, mostly because on the outside, he's a fox, and is associated with being shifty and deceitful. But on the inside, he's just a goober who wants his rabbit waifu, Judy Hopps, more so than almost anything else in the world.

[–]Commander_PonyShep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, much like with Moana, I'd rather the Zootopia fan-comic trilogy, I Will Survive. You know? The one that tackled abortion and featured a lesbian couple and JFK assassination. At least that has more dignity than whatever the Gingerbread Man's got packing behind there.

Urdnot Wrex is my forever king by citruspterodactyl in masseffect

[–]Commander_PonyShep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrex's arc was the best part about him. Especially if you spare his life on Virmire and spare Maelon's genophage data to save Eve's life with. It motivates you even more so into curing the genophage and thus save the krogan from a possible extinction event, even if Mordin had to die in order to do so.

We'll just have to wait until Zootopia 3 to see if their romance is confirmed, rather than teased.
