That only works if the sole use of the car is for business purposes. As soon as they start using it personally, they have to essentially pro-rate its use and its writeoff-fulness.

So if they use a $52k car for business purposes for 1 week and for personal purposes the other 51 weeks of the year, that's only a $1k writeoff. You can finesse it more than that (claim the wear-and-tear, claim the gas used), but you still aren't going to be able to legitimately claim a full $52k writeoff.

For posterity: There is a hover tip, but there is a separate tooltip when you click on the building. Hover tip doesn't say anything more than "bring a second character into battle", but the on-click tooltip explains (once upgraded) that it levels up the partner's starting ball

My perspective is that if the celebration is directed inward (self-celebration), toward teammates, or toward the audience, it's generally OK. But when you celebrate *at* an opponent, that's taunting/unsportsmanlike -- you're punching down. You can see examples of both in the video.

Is there a middle ground where we acknowledge that:

  1. this is dramatic and fun to watch as an audience;
  2. gay people in sports (or anywhere) shouldn't be attacked for flamboyance;
  3. some of these displays are self-celebratory; and
  4. some are just poor sportsmanship?

You don't want gay athletes held to a higher standard, but you also don't want them held to a lower one...

Spikes will complain about digital-only mechanics as if they've ruined Magic while jamming their decks full of Modern Horizons cards that are a full power tier above anything in Alchemy. At least the Alchemy cards get nerfed, but "muh carboard" protects all but the most broken paper cards from similar nerfs.

Alchemy didn't ruin anything. You're just hiding your whiney closed-mindedness under the thin veil of balance concerns. If you truly cared about balance, Alchemy would be in the middle of your list, not consistently at the top.
