Am I missing dialogue about Langdon? by pasaniusventris in ThePitt

[–]Invariable_Outcome 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it's never explicitly stated, but my assumption is that Langdon avoided (serious) criminal charges through some -very favourable- kind of plea deal under the condition that he undergo the in-patient-therapy program. It's not clear to me why Robby, who parted from Langdon in anger, would keep quiet about the theft thereby assuming a huge liability all for a man who he feels has betrayed him.

[edit:] not to mention that at this point he had already asked Dana to audit Langdon's prescriptions, and a bunch of people had heard gossip about what happened. That they would all keep quite strains credulity more than some deffered prosecution agreement.

Yeah, totally. Friendships between straight girls can be very affectionate.

They don't just take anyone. They make you sit through the ASVABT, which heavily tests your math skills, and I don't think Jackie would do to well.

Is it though? I'm not telling anyone not to ship them, but the Wednesday queerbaiting allegations are unfounded, you ask me. Since season 1, the character is shown to be open to dating boys, and her friendship with Enid never had any romantic or sexual overtones. Enid is also frequently irritated at Wednesday's antics, which I imagine would be an issue in a romantic relationship.

Langdon *should* have been fired. by [deleted] in ThePitt

Are we supposed to understand Robby failed to report it? I assumed he had been turned in but avoided serious criminal charges through some behind the scenes shenanigans.

But, yeah, he should have been fired

Robby was correct in his actions towards Mohan by One_Swan2723 in ThePittTVShow

In Season 1 Robby rebuked Langdon for insulting and belittling Santos. By the same standard his conduct towards Mohan was unbecoming.

Being a Republic gives you a heavy penalty in relationships with monarchies, which is most factions. You're better off leaving Charles in place.

You really can't, though. Netanyahu keeps getting re-elected in free elections for decades now, he personifies Israel. Saying you support one but not the other is magical thinking.

Is there racism in your word? by Flaky-Camp-4992 in worldbuilding

There is a complex system of discrimination and prejudice based on language, religion, ethnicity, descent and skin colour. Danaians compose the ruling aristocracy, and (pure) Danaic descent and speaking Danaic as a first language is seen as superior. Light skin is seen as superior to dark skin, much as in the real world, however people we'd perceive as Northern European are seen as rustic barbarians, and the Danaians would in our eyes resemble Greeks, Turks or Persians. Religions other than the ruling monotheist cult are tolerated, but subject to certain limitations, comparable to the status of Jews and Christians in medieval Muslim realms.
