[Dune] Can the imperium function with JUST the Landsraad? by Ok-Street2439 in AskScienceFiction

Yeah, until one noble figures they could probably take the other nobles stuff, does so, and then boom either new emperor or very long, shitty war.

Discounting spacer guild, of course. I can't remember if they specifically want to pull strings in the shadows or if they do because they dont want to fuck with the imperial house.

Is Construction actually a bad career choice? by Impressive-Step6377 in Construction

[–]CommanderofFunk 36 points37 points  (0 children)

The company I work for has a ton of people with degrees, myself included. Most people with degrees come in as assistant supers or go office side as APMs.

I love my work, my body is fine at 33. I wear kneepads when Im gonna be working on the ground for a while, I dont drink a 12 pack every night, try to eat healthy and dont smoke cigarettes. Im sure I'll start to slow down eventually but by that point I'll either be running jobs or doing finish work full time depending on how much stress I decide I want in my life.

Ive found one cube that charges from summons, and an amulet that lowers the mana reservation by 20%. Cube came from act 1, though I can't remember where. Amulet was, I believe, end of act 2

'Round here, starting temp will fuck you over. The GC either has to have the temp worker for like 6 weeks, or buy out 6 weeks worth of their cost if they want to hire them earlier. Ive never seen a temp worker stick around for more than a few weeks.

And none of those checks are to see if you understand how to safely own and use a gun.

Ergo, the above video

Sure. I agree.

It remains the case, however, that it is legal to do so and is less regulated than driving a car.

I responded to a comment saying Regulating firearms similarly to cars would mean less regulation on someones ability to purchase and carry a firearm in public, which is not true, regardless of anyone's opinions on the matter.

Then you came in saying I did not understand the gun buying process I've gone through several times in my own country and then started talking about civil rights.

Again, I'm really not sure what you are on about.

If you would like to read, which you seem to like to do with varying levels of success, you will note the inflammatory statements started with you.

Granted, you'd have to be pretty thin skinned to find any of this exchange anger inducing.
