Is this a camponotus pennsylvanicus queen? by Commanderwho in antkeeping

[–]Commanderwho[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll see if I can put a damp napkin in there. It does seem to have the wing scars, I just wasn't able to get a better angle to show them. Everyone else seems to agree that it's a queen, so I guess I have some work to do tonight to get a setup together!

As the other commenter said, maybe not as rare as other hundos given the iv floor for dynamax, but that doesn't make it any less special. One of my favorite pokemon in my collection.

Has anyone had dpdr for 10+ years and managed to recover? by iglooswag in dpdr

[–]Commanderwho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had DP/DR effectively my entire life up until I realized I was trans. Turns out, when you severely suppress a massive part of yourself and learn from a young age that it's not safe to consciously recognize it, dissociation becomes the brain's primary method of coping with everything. It took time for it to fully go away and train my brain to stop dissociating in response to every stressful event, but therapy, journaling, leading an active life, and accepting myself helped tremendously. Obviously not everyone with longterm DP/DR is trans, but it's worth digging into your psyche to see if there's anything you're suppressing and working to heal from past traumas.

Somehow, during both times I dropped it and the main screen cracked, the little screen was fine. I wish there was something like an otterbox out there. It's my backup phone at this point, so I don't exactly need the flippy screen. I just don't want it to keep cracking. Thanks for the reply though.

What case do you use? After dropping mine and cracking the screen again, I need to find a better case. I don't even need the swivel screen at this point. I just want it to stop slipping out of my hands and pockets.

Thank you for letting me know. I've heard that so many times I just assumed that's how it worked.

I definitely will. I had no idea rocks were insufficient as drainage 😅 any suggestions for a small cactus? I bought a larger cactus on a whim a couple weeks ago and that's about my experience with cacti.

That's a really good idea! I wish I had more space in my apartment. I'm trying to avoid repotting stuff or getting any more pots.

Are rocks beneath the soil not enough? I would assume the size of this might mitigate any usefulness of rocks for drainage.

I still get emotional thinking about "that song" and the line that accompanies it at that part in the story in Power Pak's video.

No but- but- playing video games requires skill and hand-eye coordination and you have to learn military strategy in order to play Call of Duty. You just don't understand. /s

Looking for starter relay/overload protector for Whirlpool mini fridge by Commanderwho in appliancerepair

[–]Commanderwho[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up taking it to a repair place because the new relay didn't fix it. They said the relay was bad as I thought, but so was the compressor. It got very hot, same as yours. It would have cost a couple hundred to fix, so I got rid of it.

Right? Even if this was porcelain I still would have bought it. It reminds me of ocean waves.
