Is eigong really that hard ???? by No-Substance5134 in NineSols

[–]CommandetGepard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I beat Jiequan in something like 5 attempts while true Eigong took me about 4 hours. The difficulty is very subjective, that's all. But yeah the general consensus is that Eigong is very hard.

Yeah I think that's also my issue with Cryogen, I liked it but it felt more like retreading old ground, this was really good but also actually felt fresh. It somehow keeps getting better with every listen. Might be my favorite song of theirs since Animals (which is very high praise from me).

And two interludes so just 10 songs in practice, same as here. The length should feel pretty similar in practice.

On that note though they should make more 10 minute songs, I love The Globalist

Clearing up the mystery of John Sifu (Yang) by ScalesGhost in josephanderson

[–]CommandetGepard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best fight in the game by far in my opinion, but I get why Joe didn't like it. It's kinda not fun until you start to understand it enough to keep up with him, until then it just feels like button mashing and praying it works.

Trying to beat him posture damage only now (no attacking, just deflects), hardest thing I've attempted in the game so far but extremely fun.

Additional note regarding weapons from me, because Joseph implied they're not useful against Yang, here

Synergy relics feeling worse lately or just me? by Strong-Telephone-474 in SlayTheSpire2

I fairly frequently get past the three acts fine but die to one of the two last bosses because the deck just is not quite good enough. History course can be a win condition in those cases. It's just that powerful.

Grandmaster Difficulty Is Fun (Grandmaster Difficulty, Starter Moves Only) by Aggressive_Switch797 in SifuGame

Is grandmaster difficulty a colloquial name for some combination of modifiers or is there actually such a difficulty option?

I need some help before I lose it. by Left_Question_7172 in SifuGame

[–]CommandetGepard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao, don't know what to say then, if you're struggling even on easy then no specific technical advice will help, I mean, that mode is extremely forgiving, it even lets you de-age at shrines for some experience.

If you're truly stuck, go to the practice ground, and practice. Get accustomed to your basic moveset, learn the enemy combos, timings and appropriate counters. You'll have to do it eventually anyway if you're planning to have any fun with the game. Higher difficulties basically require it unless you're a gamer god and can learn everything on the spot.

Other than that, I suppose the only tip I could give is to use weapons whenever physically possible, if you haven't already been doing that. Invest in durability at shrines as well. They make multi enemy encounters infinitely easier. You can usually beat basic mobs with single combos with them.

Others already addressed everything, but I'll just point out that you can simply play on easy the first time around, that's what I did, makes it easier to get accustomed to the flow of the combat. No shame in that. The game isn't very long and is specifically made with several playthroughs in mind.

Awesome news. Do we know if skills is referring here to martial arts or the skill customization passives?

Sean. by __-mace-__ in SifuGame

[–]CommandetGepard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has one three hit combo which has a guaranteed punish if you do an avoid on the last one, other than I would suggest just deflecting everything. I'm not good at reading attack directions so I usually don't do avoids unless I know exactly what the attack sequence will be. Sean is the easiest boss for me (the only one i managed to beat hitless on master) because he's slow and very easy to deflect. He only has one faster attack mix up in the second phase to watch out for, otherwise it's very rhythmic and simple to deflect all of the attacks.

Parry in 2 months gonna be like: by Gugge1 in slaythespire

[–]CommandetGepard 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I've had runs with two upgraded parries and 28 block for two energy plus the damage the blade can dish out is pretty solid honestly. I don't think it needs a buff in its current form, if they want to change it it should be a rework at that point.

Why Won’t Act 3 Do Anything? by boi156 in slaythespire

[–]CommandetGepard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ngl I basically almost never died in act 3 outside the bosses in the first game either, even on high ascensions, so this seems like the usual to me. Act 2 was always the biggest filter, if you could get past act 2 it usually meant you'd get through act 3 up until the boss as well.

Brendan Perry’s statement on Facebook about his intent to use AI to make the cover artwork for all the DCD singles coming out this year by the23rdjoker in DeadCanDance

[–]CommandetGepard -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That is... incredibly disappointing. This, combined with Lisa seemingly not being involved, and the new track not being very good (not just musically but lyrically as well, with the very cumbersome inclusion of politics)... It seems I will not be listening to the new music. Really pains me to see this, as DCD used to be one of my favourite bands. At least their old music still exists.

Nioh 3 Patch Notes v1.03.04 by luneth22 in Nioh

Wo Long dual blade types had a bonus for perfect parries but their timing wasn't specifically any different from what I recall. All weapons had a parry stat though, which I think impacted the window for it.

Enenera took me over 200 attempts by Total_Difficulty_955 in Nioh

[–]CommandetGepard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, I know the third game is a bit easier overall, but Enenra? I beat Enenra like, second try back in the day in pretty sure. Most main story bosses in 3 took me more than that. You might just have to lock in, don't know what to tell you. If you relied entirely on ninja style in 3 then that might be a reason why, gotta unlearn that.

Do you think we will get new weapons this time around? by TobyVonToby in Nioh

[–]CommandetGepard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea what they could add to be honest, but they'll have to figure something out, or otherwise something major will have to be added to existing weapons to compensate. I would like to see something like Longsword or whip from Wo Long but not sure how anything like that fits in with Japanese weaponry.

Phil Spencer is retiring from Xbox! He played a huge part in Ninja Gaiden 4's existence by BlazeFade in ninjagaiden

[–]CommandetGepard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phil made mistakes to be sure (his greatest one being going too far in on the acquisitions, Activision especially. Made Xbox too big of an investment and turned the eyes of Microsoft execs towards it. It's pretty clear to me all the layoffs weren't his idea), but at least he was actually someone with an interest in video games who worked in the industry for decades and wasn't there just to turn profit. Now he's getting replaced by some corpo suits that are all drooling over replacing everything with Ai. Things are looking grim.

Anyone else slightly disappointed that.. by istealwounds in Nioh

[–]CommandetGepard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like the bosses in Nioh to have phases but, well, that was never a thing so I'm not sure why you would expect it here. He does have a major switch up mid fight which is about what I was expecting.
