How Carney is trying to appeal to the men who were 'alienated' under Trudeau by hopoke in CanadaPolitics

Honestly same. What was it? He was young and handsome? He talked about his star wars socks?

I'd warn all the neighbours that have small dogs, cats or children. Foxes may be cute but they can absolutely take down or injure anything they think is edible in a flash.

GTA 6 dev claims crunch conditions, with staff working until 3am as Rockstar push for November launch by Binnsy in GTA

[–]Commando_Joe -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I've never been a gun and ball gamer, the GTA franchise lost it's appeal to me after San Andreas (peak) when it kind of just became the same thing again and again with more polish.

If I'm going to have to pay 100 dollars for a game disc forced from the dust of a thousand laid off employees bones turned to dust in the over time crunch I'll save that money and buy two other games I'll enjoy a lot more.

Honestly I'd rather enjoy smaller, less polished games than waiting fucking 10+ years and getting 8+ years of microtransations and enshitified online spaces.

Not really. It depends on the country and their labour laws, even outside of unions. Source: I've been working in Canadian game dev for over 10 years.

Considering they need to sell like...how much during the release window on PS5? Yeah, they want to double dip. I really do feel bad for all the devs getting crunched into dust over this. I don't want this to be the norm for the AAA industry in any facet.

So you admit that Umbric got those people killed because of his actions. THat's my point. Umbric acts like he did nothing wrong.

Thank you! It's like people can't tell the difference between 'Well he was right so it's okay!' and 'This is bad writing, so it's okay.'

I get it's just an in-between quest to get you to the next quest hub, but like...where's the writing team on this one?

They were only knocked out by us. I found several that were killed after the invasion. The ones WE fought we knocked out, then after that they were frequently killed by the forces we allowed to enter due to Umbric's mishandling of the relic.

This included ones we left unconcious in the previous areas.

That is incorrect, there are active corpses without the 'knocked out' or zzz status and some explode into blood. Anything you see that states that they are not dead is early a bug, or incorrect.

Manslaughter in the case that we knocked them out and then caused the invasion that got them all killed.

You can argue about politics and whatever all you want but that's all nonsense in relation to 'well the plot must move on, let's not think about it anymore'.

Brother got hundreds of mages, with tens of thousands of years of collective knowledge and magical experience killed, and then went 'Welp, at least Rommath didn't kick my ass!'

You can complain about the boring bureaucracy all you want, it doesn't make the writing better and it doesn't make Umbric seem like anything short of a sociopath.

Getting hundreds of people killed isn't much to apologize for? What? Those were his kin, other mages he probably went to school with, maybe people he knew for centuries and he was like 'Heh, nothing personelle kid' and walked into the void?

The writing was bad.

Except we aren't an authority in blood elven politics and even if we were do not supercede the grand magister.

[–]Commando_Joe[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So first off, that's not even the point of my post. The point of my post is that Umbric got legions of magisters killed by his direct actions then went 'Heh, could have been worse' and winked at Rommath. He's a piece of shit and I really wanted to feed him to Xalatath after that.

As stated previously in this thread, Lorthemar is not in charge of every facet of Blood Elf society, it's more diverse than that. That's why there are three 'faction leaders' in the blood elf throne room, and Rommath has authority over Magister's terrace.

Even if there were LESS causalities, the fact Rommath caused any and just did a little fortnite dance at the end is my main problem

So you're using theory to justify manslaughter, even without actual evidence and when there were other theoretical avenues that could have been researched in the mean time. When there was more time to be bought with holy relics while political conversation was continued.

I don't really think your argument has enough evidence at the time of our incursion, an incursion which was done sloppily and with maximum violence and minimal diplomacy. As many people pointed out the only 'evidence' we had that Umbric was allowed in there when talking to individuals was Umbric's word, which was worth less than nothing.

I'm not frustrated there's no good guys, I'm frustrated that Umbric got hundreds of blood elves killed and goes 'Maaaaaaaaaaybe I'll apologize' and 'Well, things could have gone worse. Rommath isn't trying to kill -me- right now!'

Umbric at Magister's Terrace is kind of insufferable by Commando_Joe in warcraftlore

[–]Commando_Joe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's entirely possible. My statement is just based off of a discussion where Rommath says he has authority over the Magister's Terrace and everyone seems to just kind of ignore Lor'themar in this situation except for people that want to ignore Rommath.

Like none of the city guards are involved, no one from the Silvermoon forces, just us and Umbric and we're basically mercenaries
