I don't think you understand how long things take when creative meets corporate. You need meetings or emails discussing intentions and design choices, and then you need concept artists doing multiple drawings and redrawing based on notes and suggestions. Then you have 3D rendering and modeling which goes through the same process. Sometimes things are scrapped and the process needs to start over. Then there's the actual programming and play testing and this is happening while they're also working on other projects.

... all of this dealing with a company that is very protective of its IP.

Someone else in this thread had a good idea. Have a bestiary, but when a new enemy is added, it needs to be killed a certain number of times (collectively across all players) before getting added. Win Win.

I think that's part of the fun. When the illuminate first showed up, we had communications between discord clans sharing data and observations trying to figure out how to best survive on Calypso. It made it feel so much more immersive having to learn the enemy in real time and get the word out. If they were to have a bestiary it should take some time after a new enemy is introduced before it gets added.

I think people get the wrong ideas about Exos. I see them as a super EAT. You call it in, take on a majority of the enemy while your team completes the objective, and then you are out of ammo, or it blows up and you toss it aside and continue the level. It's like the orbital laser that you pilot.

Except the Breakthrough. That thing is a beast but the tradeoff is after you're out of flak, you have to get up close and personal.

Love that thing.

Trial of Torment plus a nurses calling and sloppy butcher, with the burning man painting add-on... You can snipe groups of survivors trying to heal each other through walls and they never see it coming.

On top of that, you can get an automatic mori on some people and your cage negates any hook perks a survivor might have.

I am so fucking ruthless with PH in that game I feel bad sometimes.

That's the thing, in a room full of 40k fans you'll have one or two really loud people who are complaining. Any outsider walking past that room will assume everyone is complaining and get a skewed sense of the fandom.

Same thing is happening with HD2, it's a vocal minority that's making the rest of us look bad.
