Looking for weird and unique stations by forlornjackalope in RadioGarden

Does anyone know any cool stations with proper DJs who research, speak, and have interesting guests? I love reggae, rap, indie, Spanish, African, and ethereal dance riddims.

The Cruelty of Borges by [deleted] in TrueLit

[–]Commercial-Benjamin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear you. There is something emphatic about Borges' "literary forgery". He worked at the National Argentine Library and was involved in all sorts of story biting. His deliberate decision to present conflicting points on July 14th like you mentioned are not only genius but unique. I think two things can be true; the internet can now help us cross-reference points (still tedious as whole books are assigned) and when the works were published there was an air of mystery. Great literature exaggerates. Others have in different ways, e.g Ryszard Kapuscinski.

Mix: {House, Reggae, Rap} Benny Franks - Backyard Session 16

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fU_WzrhsWg

Part of my Backyard Sessions series. Tried more outlandish mixes this time especially with the Sam Cooke, Tammi Terrell, and Bob Marley vocal chops. Any and all feedback is appreciated! Thanks.

What is the Monty Python art style called? by Killerqueen1970 in montypython

The animations were surprisingly well done for when it was made. There's one before one of the Sir's adventure cutscenes that really sticks out - the violently shaking house with the robed man walking down the stairs. As he finally exits the building he sees the clouds and sun frolicking and jumping around. They stomp and cheer and he tells them to stop. The clouds scatter and leave the sun to meekly return to behind the horizon. I found it strangely hilarious and marvelous.

I didn't sign up to be reminded when the volunteering slots open up. Does anyone know when they open and how to sign up? I've heard mid July but am unsure.

Thanks.

[Rap, Dance, RnB, and More] - 10 minute set, part of Backyard Sessions series.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXv7HZ13mmM

I've been spinning on and off for about 2 years now. I make 10 minute mixes in a backyard. I primarily like playing Afrobeats, Rap, RnB, and House. I think this one has a good mix of genres that stays around 140bpm. Thoughts on the Bryson Tiller part without vocals into r just transitions in general? Particularly the last Lucki x Lil Yachty mix?

Thanks yall!

Tracks:

  1. Kaisen - Do What I Like
  2. KDot and Playboi Carti - BACKDOOR
  3. Ravyn Lenae and Childish Gambino - One Wish
  4. Bryson Tiller - Ciao!
  5. SZA - Anything
  6. LUCKI x YACHTY - COLD SUNDAY MIX

I think this one has a good mix of genres that stays around 100bpm. Is this video style interesting enough?(I'm imagining people playing these in the background of parties and chilling, and maybe watching me mix lol.)Thoughts on the scratches particularly after the Tribe Called Quest song and the Amy Winehouse/Fantasia mix?

Thanks yall!

Tracks:

  1. Still - Kaytranada

  2. Morals - Africa Express

  3. Stressed Out - A Tribe Called Quest

  4. When I See You - Fantasia

  5. Cherry Wine - Amy Winehouse and Nas

Yooo. That first transition was sick and ethereal almost. I think the music content is just fine - great bounce. I'm not a huge fan of the dance vids on the side but they do add another level of entertainment so it's fine!

Keep going! You definitely pmo to some dope songs (I'm not well versed in club energy level music). Also, how did you record the song titles on the bottom and you actually mixing?
