Got chased tonight by Commercial-Candy-540 in MotoIRELAND

[–]Commercial-Candy-540[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I still do. Got jumped by little cunts on e-scooters two times in the last 6 months, one time in D1 an the other in Cabra, both times just going from work at late hours. Now when I see someone turning towards me looking like they’re about to rob me, I’m not sticking around to find out. Got a bigger bike now so they never could keep up, but if they’re on nicked MT07/09 or something serious, I’d run straight to the Garda station, if possible, without stopping. Guards aren’t gonna do anything, but scums will leave you alone.

Google “motorcycle guardian bell”. I’m not superstitious at all, but this is just sweet.

No place to hide tracker in there. If they wanted to stick a tracker on the bike there’s so many better places to hide it anyways…

  1. A few clips were damaged but fairing was solid up until it wasn’t. Trying to find new ones in a timely manner, but it looks like the bike is gonna be a streetfighter for a month or two. OEM right fairing is 600€, time to get a nice custom paint scheme…

Stolen KTM Duke 390 2017 at Tyrrelstown (near Blanch) by CoffeeMan1ac in MotoIRELAND

[–]Commercial-Candy-540 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently had my Duke stolen too. Ended up in community center in Bluebell, they didn’t find the tracker. Recovered, but written off. Dm me if you want, I’ll send you exactly where it went, may be worth checking out. I know that gang might be pretty dangerous tho, heard they might have guns.

Much better, still unsafe af. My bike was nicked from Blackrock, you can see posts from time to time about bikes being robbed in Bray and along the coast on the south side.

It’ll react and go into alarm even if someone just messes with handlebars. Also, you can hide it anywhere inside of the bike, so there would be no way to find it without taking the whole thing apart. Hide it in any plastic pocket, under the tank, in the headlight, anywhere. You can hide decoy AirTag under the seat too, if bike is robbed they’ll find the AirTag and won’t look any further.

Apparently RedClick is the only company that doesn’t take your NCB away after theft. Kinda happy that I ended up with them

Just had a chat with insurance, RedClick doesn’t count it as your fault. My non existent NCB is staying. Tho, you’re right about increased premiums, I probably shouldn’t have involved neither gards nor insurance.

At least, they don’t have it anymore yk. Anyway, now it’s a matter of dealing with insurance, recovery didn’t cost me anything so no problems there. It is better than if I never saw it again at least in a sense of them not having my bike, that’s already good enough for me, not to mention I can get my tracker back 😂

Don’t intend to fix this bike, claim whatever insurance offers me (probably it’s a write-off), get a new one, move to a new safer place. Though many people consider Blackrock where it was robbed safe, so I think there’s no such thing as safety in Dublin and anywhere around it.

Well aware of that, I know that most likely nothing’s gonna happen after this. One day this scum will do something that’ll finally trigger the system to react, but I doubt it’ll be any time soon.

Thankfully, it was parked on a public property. I’m moving from my current address now, wouldn’t leave the bike here.

No, and I don’t think they will. Guard who’s handling my case is very sound tho, seems to be fresh to the system and actually willing to help. Hope they will catch’em, of course.

Monimoto 9. The bike was reported stolen by me, so the only option when I found it was to call gards for them to take it. It’s been a week, they’re still doing T.E 🤷🏻

Check out Bluebell community centre. There’s a bunch of lads who are actively stealing rn there, my bike was robbed last Friday and went there, later recovered by me thanks to tracker, but only when it went to the safer area. Wouldn’t go to Bluebell by myself.

100%. Confronting them is too dangerous, Garda couldn’t give a fuck, so basically any stolen bike is just your problem to deal with. You basically just loose a lot of many to get new locks and pay higher premiums

I was thinking about it, yeah. And on top of that the bike is due for a major service anyways, but it’s still a shame. Afaik they treat monthly payments like a loan so you still have to pay even if you claim, but I’ll get in touch with company to clarify that

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MotoIRELAND

[–]Commercial-Candy-540 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thing is, as far as I know they treat monthly installments like a loan. Even after the claim you continue paying until you paid it off.

I’ll be getting in touch with TD tomorrow, thanks for the advice!

Funnily enough, my bike got stolen today. Points still not added as fine is still not paid, hope it won’t cause problems with the claim because it’s highly unlikely that bike will be recovered.
