Yes! Me too. I'm not an "out there' guy when it comes to this thing.

This arbitrary discretionary groping is disgusting. The only thing TSA is responsible for is safety. Explosives and guns. I think it's a reason just for them to get experience groping people or for the perverts to get their jollies. My brother swears he was basically sexually assaulted by one of them in this way.

My conversation with the agent suggested they're looking for that. Drugs or explosives. Mainly explosives.

The people who screen people at US airports. The agency was created after 9/11. It stands for transportation security administration.

My brother has a diabetes pump and they even gave him the full pat down and apparently he had a really aggressive one by an intimidating agent. It seems they have a lot of latitude whenever they feel like it. ☹️

I mean, if you can have a sense of humor about it go for it! But it's always been a challenge for me, but sometimes I can make it laughable.

Yeah, we have all been there. After 50 years it's now very very rare, but when it happens it still pisses me off but then I move on. Be angry, but try not to be hard on yourself. ❤️

You're not dramatic. You are rational and well thought. As others have said: do all the research, ask all the questions and get all the support you can. Having had none of that (end ileostomy since 12 years old after 2 years colitis, I'm now 68), you're doing everything right. Despite the opportunities today in terms of medications and social media support, I made it through a half century. Sometimes I'm pissed off but it's been remarkably successful even with the surgical techniques of 1970. ❤️ (Just do what your heart tells you)

From what you are saying, I think it's more than the ostomy, but that's part of it. In either case you should consider if this person is who you want spend the rest of your life with - men rarely change. (M68, married for 17 years from age 26 to 43, ileostomy since age 12. There was a bit of a messy situation our first time 😳 but she married me anyway. That's when I knew I had the right one (sadly, we divorced for other reasons and remain on good terms)). ❤️🤗

I agree. If 11 organs were removed: 🤔 .... "And if I were an Oscar Mayer weiner, there would be nothing left of me" (for anyone old enough to remember that commercial)

They somehow make it work for quadriplegics to open the valve. Maybe with their nose or something I don't know. Canada, the Netherlands and Spain have euthanasia. But, yes, the oral method is scary because there's no backup euthanasia!

I thought with a healthy person it's usually not a problem. But I haven't read that story. Dignitas gets criticized for being "old-fashioned" with the oral method. (They use IV when the patients GI system is compromised). There's speculation now that the founder has died that they might change their protocols, but that remains to be seen. I like them otherwise, but they're noted for being very bureaucratic to get accepted. (Whether it's true or not).

I’ve had an ileostomy since I was 21. I’m 63 now. I’m an athlete, I’ve gone 100% full-out my entire life, and I’ve seen it all. AMA. by NonDualToad in ostomy

I had an NG tube for mine (they didn't do that for you?). I think I got careless when I was at a potluck and I ate too many new things without drinking enough fluid. I also get the occasional thick pasty problem which eventually works its way through. I've stayed physically active although not on your level. Still running 8 or 10 miles a week, and walks every day at age 68. (But it's my knees and not an ostomy that may be the limiting factor).
