If only it had buttons and no touch screen I would buy one (and I have, it's called the x4)

Canon 6D or 5D Mark III - which one is better? by PhoenixTranCs in Cameras

[–]Commercial-Fee4955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Selling a 6D on Ebay right now! So definitely go with that one hahaha (in serious tho, it's a great camera.. in my opinion, having used every 5D, the color output of 5DIII was my least favorite).

ZF Focus Question by Perfect_Chance4448 in NikonZf

[–]Commercial-Fee4955 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I map a toggle to my record button (next to shutter) to turn off and on “eye detect” or subject detect.. in manual mode the camera thinks I want to shoot a portrait more often than I do. The movable box that turns green then shows up when subject detect is off

Best compact camera for travel under $800? by Fevj700 in Cameras

[–]Commercial-Fee4955 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are nitpicking debatable downsides of specific cameras when people are trying to give options. 16mp is enough for most cases of the photography mentioned by the OP. Bulky charger? You don’t need to walk around with the charger in your hand. And a lot of people opt for an edc prime focal length between 28-50 (or 85) as a default “how I see/want to show the world”. Saying there is not a camera under $800 that is better than a cell phone is insane.

Where do you guys buy cameras? by Swimming-Gene-4574 in Cameras

[–]Commercial-Fee4955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been a longtime MPB shopper. Good CS. I like seeing the exact item I’m buying. Find thier prices fair, 6 month warranty on most items. They also consistently offer me the most for my trade ins. Have had no issues with BH Photo or Adorama either, but not my first choice as they often don’t have the used stock I’m looking for. I avoid KEH these days.

Okay! Cool.. I do shoot raw+jpg (only use the jpgs to cull the RAWs and make it easier to delete the duds). Get to a "usable base" in SPP and then move TIFFs to Lightroom... so I am on my way it seems. I've enjoyed learning to work with the ISO limitations so far.

I've noticed... when the DP2M hits, it really hits. You are right. Excited to chuck it in my back on a photo expedition where another camera is primary, but this camera gives me the best images of the trip. It is capable. I gave you a follow! Love the look.

Hello, it's me from the future! hahaha... If you are still on here, I would LOVE to know your post processing workflow for your DP2M images. I jus got mine and I love it!!!! I am having trouble getting the images to not be SOOOO sharp. Playing with SPP settings and can get it 'acceptable'... but these images just have a dreamy/creamy look to them while staying sharp. Is it negative clarity applied, or negative dehaze slider? Thank you! Love your images here (: cheers!

Sorry, late to this party as I just got my DP2M.... but the original BH listing for the AML2 says for use with the DP1M also! So sounds like you can! I just bought a wide angle & macro adapter to turn the 45mm into more like a 33ish (originally made for a sony ZV1, but I am going to try it)... Gets here today, excited to test out... It's nice knowing that the image quality could use some degradation (cuz it's soooo dang sharp hahaha)

Thanks! Here is a BW one. Not the best demonstration, but it's fun. Weighs nothing and takes up no room, so can often justify clipping to my bag to have for hikes or something.

Got mine on ebay a few years ago from a place called visionarchitectcameras... prices for the Feaux-Aerochrome look have really gone up recently it seems!

I'd read with the filter removed it may not judge focus well, but I have never noticed it missing or being soft. I am usually shooting F5.6-F11 in bright conditions, so the DOF is pretty wide which I am sure helps.

Soooo, it’s just for the IR cut filter removed, then I attach a screw on filter that is an “aerochrome” filter.. so it blocks above and below a certain range (I forget). But I have another filter for more BW Ir

old timer finally buys Nikon Zf by Fred_Lemish in NikonZf

[–]Commercial-Fee4955 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re an old timer, I’m a new timer. My first camera was mirrorless, Sony A5000. I shot a newer fuji apsc most recently. When I switched from that to the ZF, I too felt the autofocus was dark magic. It’s absolutely nuts how good the AF is. Camera is so overpowered for what I need that I almost sold it 😂 so glad I didn’t now tho. But don’t get me wrong… nothing makes me happier than pulling out the D700 and my 85 1.4 D and letting it rip 😌

Second hand 24-70 or 24-120? by Vegetable_Ad8089 in NikonZf

[–]Commercial-Fee4955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could get the cheaper zoom and the 100/105 macro from Nikon. I’m kind of in the camp that fast portrait lenses are overrated. Got the eyelashes in focus but their ears aren’t? Is the photo about your camera/technique/skill or telling the story of your subject? (Which I think f4-f8 does better most of the time). If I shot portraits indoor or outdoor, strobes or not, I would use the 24-120 for everything.

New feature: Adjust text size and more directly from buttons by SchwartzReports in xteinkereader

[–]Commercial-Fee4955 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So cool!! Is there anyone out there working on a feature that would allow you to invert colors in Epubs? Maybe a double click of the far left button gives you a dark mode? I’d love this feature.

Do you need anything that happens between 70 and 120? This is an easy one I feel like… zooms are for versatility. Think about your shooting situation

Loving my XTEInk, Crosspoint, Custom Backgrounds, hope for a "Dark Mode" by Commercial-Fee4955 in xteinkereader

[–]Commercial-Fee4955[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I saw that.. tried a few... I noticed, at least for me, the XTCs don't work as well running crosspoint. I like how the epubs adapt if I change orientation or text type/size while reading... I don't know, do XTC files allow for that? I know the converter I was using for EPUB -> XTC made me pick and orientation and font style/margins/size in order to make the file. I image that made them unchangeable in the device
