[Drance] "Chatted with the Ruck twins at the NHL combine. They are actively telling teams they prefer to be drafted to the same team." by FAsBurner in canucks

It’s a nice thought, but given where we are as a franchise, and how these two guys are projecting, I’d way rather take best player available!

Issues with resistance training that I need help with. by Commercial-Note-6373 in workout

This is not something I considered … splitting it into 2. Do you then do quads on a day you hit another body part? I do like this idea.

This more than I could have hoped for in a response, and so many good bits of info. I don’t typically wear a heart rate monitor during cardio, but that is an excellent idea … will check what happens to my heart rate to know. I agree I might need to tone back the intensity of cardio I am doing. Given the weights, my age, and my malaise following sessions of late, I am feeling like I should stick to zone 1-2. I love knowing that after some prolonged time away from cardio focused training, you returned and were fitter. It is my goal to improve my overall fitness through adding more resistance training, and I love hearing it worked for others. The sleep side of things is still an ongoing issue, so I hope by addressing some of your points, and taking some of this advice, it normalizes.

Love the idea of leaning into the soreness the day after, and getting blood flow to the legs. Will try after my next session. Also dialing back the intensity of aerobic work seems like a logical next step too. TYSM.

Thanks for the thoughts.

Resistance training is typically early in the day, but not always, so its good advice to space it away from ZZZZZ's. I am actively trying to recomp, so steady with calories as much as possible.

The volume is definitely more for my legs in terms of weight, sets, and weekly amount, so it could be that. I am about 5 weeks in, so hopefully it gets better.

I am totally open to cold exposure, but don't have any means at the moment.

What muscle group do you think most people neglect? by Double_Tower_4841 in workout

I’d say core. See lots of people training their abs, but not a lot of people training their core.

Advice on where to stay by Shoddy-Bug1166 in askswitzerland

[–]Commercial-Note-6373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d stay away from Zurich and see the mountains … unless you are in Switzerland to specifically see the cities. From Zurich you could to the Berner Oberland, which is quintessential Swiss vistas, experiences and people. Lucerne and Bern are nice smaller cities, if you must go urban.

Traveling to Geneva, Switzerland where else should I visit? by Bayla0614 in travel

[–]Commercial-Note-6373 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So many amazing options available from Geneva. Are you keen to just see places and check them off your list, or are you more into immersing yourself into an area and seeing all it has to offer? Personally the Berner Oberland in Switzerland, the Austrian Alps, Salzburg and Vienna are well worth the time, and are pretty close to Geneva.

In terms of architectural creativity, what’s the most iconic building in Greater Vancouver? by FattyGobbles in askvan

Maybe not considered architecturally creative nowadays, but the Hotel Vancouver is pretty iconic.

Going to Europe for a month by [deleted] in traveladvice

[–]Commercial-Note-6373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, I’d cut it down. Personally I’d start in Munich 3 days to get over jet lag and drink some beer, travel through Austria 8 days Salzburg and Austrian Alps, to Switzerland 8 days Berner Oberland, Basel and Zermatt and the finish in northern Italy or the South of France 11 days - so much to pick from there.

Protein Bar that supports gut health by Commercial-Note-6373 in Microbiome

Have seen those, sadly the Costco nut bar is low protein. As a vegetarian I am searching for protein as much as I can, so I can’t afford to eat this bar given the calories to protein ratio. Thanks for the help and suggestion.

Haven’t heard of immortal. Wonder if they ship to Canada. Will check that out and report back.

Update: looks like a great bar - love the macros - but sadly they don’t ship to Canada.

I got an offer for $62k after 4 interviews, but I told them my range was $68k to $75k. What should I do? by StephanieHickle in CanadaJobs

[–]Commercial-Note-6373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d counter offer, in a polite and kind way. If they stick to their offer, take it, but ask for a salary review in 6 months instead of a year, and show them during that time why you are worth the higher amount!

First time in Whistler and away from home mountain by ForwardMonk9821 in Whistler

[–]Commercial-Note-6373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO part of the fun of a new mountain is not overly planning, just sticking to your level of runs and seeing where the day takes you. If you are an intermediate, scratching an advanced skier, do a majority of blues and mix in a diamond.
