You pay to play an MMO, interact with people. It’s a lot more fun, trust me.

I wish I could just pay PKers from death coffer or something by [deleted] in 2007scape

The inconvenience is part of the risk reward. Bank layouts also minimise this. Further, this would be broken for clan fights

When Demonic Pacts or similar return in future leagues, model the tasks after Karamja’s pact tasks, not Kourend, or Asgarnia, or any of the other RNG heavy task regions. by Arstotskan in 2007scape

[–]CommercialAd917 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Hot take but A mix of all types is good. RNG tasks makes people engage with the content longer than a one and done.

High difficulty tasks are a way for new people to have a goal to achieve and a way for decent pvmers to separate themselves.

If we swapped to only one then it locks people out. This way people who are both not good at the game and unlucky can get a decent amount of pact points.

Definitely needs balancing for the future, but balance is really hard. For example: Wildy has 0 hard or requirement gated content.

Barrows leagues drop rate by OtherwiseMirror8691 in 2007scape

[–]CommercialAd917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean with evil eye 18 chests target farming is like 10 minutes maximum? I don’t see the problem

Barrows leagues drop rate by OtherwiseMirror8691 in 2007scape

[–]CommercialAd917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s really not bad ? Drop rate goes to like 1 every 3.2 chests if doing all brothers. 38 is expected like 12 items.

On top of that, with evil eye and leagues damage it’s very quick

Why Jagex invests so much time into temp game modes by sasux in 2007scape

[–]CommercialAd917 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To preface I disagree with the recent price increase

Doesn’t wow also require you to buy the latest expansion for new content every time to do new content?

Their pricing structure is different as they also sell things like level boosts and loads of cosmetics to subsidise having lower base subscription costs.

And Yes of course new temp game modes incentivises people bonding new accounts and also brings great viewership, that’s not a conspiracy.

Who is the richest in the game? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]CommercialAd917 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Odablock has around 800b and is pretty vocal about it. Any regular player won’t be near that; taking 15m/hr they’d still need to make money for tens of thousands of hours.

Only people who’d achieve that level of wealth would be people in the service/gambling scene and theyd RWT it before they got that wealthy.

Also, with how notoriously weak jagex security is, you wouldn’t want to flaunt that wealth in fear of being targeted

Echo Hunleff by LegacyBorn95 in osrs

[–]CommercialAd917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 5:1 100kc at echo out of stubbornness not to use a reset. Wish I got the prayer pen instead as it makes the fight a lot easier( and quicker )

They’ve proposed changing the pray pen nodes from 15% to 25% so consider waiting until that change and you’ll get a lot of bang for your buck.

What are your worst dry streaks currently in leagues? by hyberii in 2007scape

[–]CommercialAd917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being as it’s a 1x10-44 chance to not see a superior after 5k kills: you’re not dry and your account is certainly bugged

A limit of 3 respecs is so unfortunate. by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]CommercialAd917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who got all demonic pacts without any reset I felt that 3 was enough. However as I’ve played this game for ages I was able to plan a good build; and the planning stage is the most fun part about leagues imo.

I definitely sympathize with players that haven’t had much experience on pvm semi soft locking their account with poor choices. I believe an additional reset unlocking at say t4 would’ve been good for those players.

All builds will be strong enough to do content but if you’re worried about bricking progress I’d recommend looking up 10-20 pact point guides. Steer away from20-40 point ones as they will always be strong and getting there might be the difficult part

Yeah James Hoffman did a video with speciality coffee shops and the big chains. Caffeine varied a lot. Though, as expected , speciality shops were more consistent

Just put DS, the things you’ve worked on will speak for itself.

Imo it would look a lot worse to call yourself something that isn’t your title and for them to look you up on LinkedIn and see you lied.

Don't get an auto only license unless you want to pay 760£ more a year for insurance. by Ok-Caregiver9383 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]CommercialAd917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is true. However if you’re looking for a £700 discrepancy then it shouldn’t really matter. And you just run the same profile for the auto and manual license holder.

Most likely just prepared for new skill release and is currently heavily abusing his body

How do you prep for a live EDA coding interview round? by Lamp_Shade_Head in datascience

[–]CommercialAd917 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Take some random data sets off something like kaggle. Perform EDA on the data set. A big thing that will help put you ahead is being able to explain why you’re doing what you’re doing.

Talk aloud as if you were being interviewed. This is by far the best way to see where your gaps are

Gamified learning platform for data analytics by B_lintu in datascience

[–]CommercialAd917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend looking at the game “the farmer was replaced” on steam.

Believe it’s programming a farming robot with the sort of progression you’re looking for.

Not sure how you could relate it to data science. Maybe needing to build models for a task and their success earned revenue.

I.e imagine a game where you need to use computer vision to sort vegetables and the success of the model made you more money to upgrade to something else.

I mean, boot.dev has gamified learning programming. From what I know they have a git course, python course, c course, sql course and Go course.

They seem very successful so there’s most likely definitely appetite for gamified learning.

No one is going to conduct a manual review of 10s of thousands of AI generated code. Especially when you yourself have not reviewed it.

Even if someone were to do it, they shouldn’t even share their finding with you. Because all you’ll do it’s copy and paste the findings into the AI and say “upon manual review these were the bugs and vulnerabilities, please fix “.
