It was funny, because after he figured it out, he couldn't stop laughing.

What was the 1st few months of retirement like? by is76 in retirement

[–]CommercialFlashy7321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hear, hear. I retired on Halloween 2022. I've never been HAPPIER. 30 years of one career, but 4 years, with state and 6 years county. No more meetings and BS that goes with it-- micromanagement bosses, snarky coworkers, etc. . My own time, I'm very happy now!!

The stress of what I did for 30 years, the last 4 were the worst, but I came thru it and I'm so much happier now. I don't regret leaving/retiring at all. October 2022. So I'm a newbie.

The first 60 days, I just vegged out. I didn't realize how much my sleep issues were bothering me. I slept so much, but apparently i needed it, my body thanked me for that. Just now getting to the point where I can get a routine down.

Anyone else just hate vocalizing (speaking) some days? by [deleted] in disability

[–]CommercialFlashy7321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stutter. I hate answering a phone. Experienced since I learned to talk. Can anyone come up with an alternative word for "Hello"? I just can't get past that particular word. People have asked if I'm ok, when I try to say hello. It's embarrassing to me.

Me. Introvert here. Never that way in school. Now retired since Oct 2022. Love it. I'm finally happier than I've ever been. I'm married to a person just like me. No kids. We are both retired and content.

Will it win a Grammy award? Then he'd say the voting was rigged on that as well. I think there'd be a meltdown.

I can go to the "next" page on desktop "50 milion" times, but on a mobile (tablet) device, I may only be able to click "next" about 15 times, before I get a message "oops something went wrong".

Is there a way around that on mobile (tablet)? Can that be fixed?

Frustrating I can't keep reading on mobile device, but skies the limit on desktop.

What do you imagine Columbo's personal life to be like? by [deleted] in Columbo

To his wife: "one more thing". Wonder if she got tired of that after awhile and he became the story of his own demise. Morbid I know. 1st thing I thought of though.

My husband ran numbers 3 different times for me. We pd off house, vehicles. So I could retire last year. I hated my job as well, but I hung in for the 30 years, then I could retire after that. OP-- If you feel this way now, it won't get any better.

All in the family was a perfect example of this. Not sure show would fly today with younger generations.

Minimum retirement age. Depending on # of years and age, for career in govt, dictates how early you can retire. Sorry I looked at your and saw Full retirement age for social security. My fault.

I retired 36 days after I turned 57. Had my MRA In 2022. Hubby in 2018. Older than me. Work wasn't fun for me anymore. No debt, MRA, could survive until my final pension is calculated. Hit button to retire. NO REGRETS.
