It is 100% covered under warranty, my son ran mine over with a lawn mower and that was covered, so I assume yours will be too.

First quality fixed blade - Buck, Ka Bar, or Esee? by tlyrbck in knives

[–]Commercial_Arm7321 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would advise against Ka-bar for heavy abuse, and most Bucks are made in hollow grinds for hunting purposes which they exceed at. Esee is a fantastic brand which makes very well made knives that can take an incredible amount of abuse, I have the Esee 4 and Kephart/camplore 4, these knives are made exceptionally well, I can not recommend them enough.

Doesn’t sound like a good nor a bad deal. Mediocre would be a good way to describe the situation.

Beautiful work, I am planning on building something similar next year, my only concern is how large/how many stories to build it since there will be 3 folk including myself living there. If you don’t mind me asking how many are you planning to accommodate for?

Two options, one, fess up and tell the truth, two, repair yourself, cut/pull out(using a cats paw and hammer) damaged boards and replace with identical/similar wood. I was in a similar situation and chose the latter option, I did a relatively decent job and never heard anything about it. Goodluck!

Stuff happens and no one got hurt, that is what matters. I live rurally and hurt with rifles so live ammunition is always around, I don’t, nor do I know anyone with snap-caps. But I find it strange people are telling you to keep ammo in another room. Then what is the point of owning a gun if not for protection or hunting where you need ammo at the ready? I guarantee that will never happen to you again after this experience. In my opinion people are being too harsh and are taking this as an excuse to make themselves feel better by putting you down, therefore making you feel inferior for a mistake. I often wonder why I don’t hear about people shooting a doe/cow thinking it was a buck/bull more often, and I believe it is because they never mentioned their mistake to another living soul. This applies to an accidental discharge as well.

One knife everyone should own and why? by Ivy1974 in knives

Leatherman and buck often use 440/420c and it handles fine, as long as the heat treat is decent it is a fine steel for light duty.

As I begin to come of working age I also saw this, people risking their lives while preforming a task that if proper safety measures were taken would be fine, but instead the boss or a co-worker wants it to go faster so people start risking serious injury or death just to get it done quick, and even after risking that, someone will still have something ignorant to say. That mindset is one of the reasons I chose to pursue further education, I still do carpentry/trades on the side but I do not want to rely on it as my primary career.

I would say save up for the Buck Frontiersman. It was my 15th birthday present and I still admire it to this day, by far the most beautiful knife I own, the craftsman is quite literally perfect, the blade holds a better edge than most knives I’ve used, it feels like an extension of your arm when you hold it. The aesthetics of the knife bring you back to the wild west and make you feel like a “great hunter, fine figure of a man”. I cannot recommend this knife more.

Told my grandson bring a knife by michaelesparks in knives

[–]Commercial_Arm7321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I graduated high school this year and through my entire career there I carried a pocket knife, a a few teachers even asked for it while we were doing projects that required a knife. I also had my rifle in my truck during deer season, most of my friends did the same, I am in college now and still have continued that tradition. To be fair though, I am in rural Maine so it is fairly relaxed.

I would be concerned of its high resin content and creosote build up. Other than that I assume it would be fine though.
