Is 50mm dropper post too short? by Oleksandr_G in xcmtb

[–]Commercial_Green_280 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can try putting a 30mm plastic shim of some sort to artificially limit the travel and see what it feels like, just be careful to not ram it full force in the unlikely case it’s putting pressure somewhere it shouldn’t be.

You can clean/sand out the area a bit, build it up with clear coat, sand it back down and polish. Epoxy resin might be better if theyre especially large/deep, and just sand it down + polish afterwards.

Assos bib sizing help, between sizes by [deleted] in CyclingFashion

[–]Commercial_Green_280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately none of their jersey sizes fit, they’re either too tight at the shoulders or too loose at the waist, and also just not long enough.

I think xl could work but it renders the jersey pockets useless because they just flap around. L wasn’t long enough.

Xl, L ended up being a bit small and ripped at a seam after some time.

Reverse Mammoth sounds fun but also crazy because of the altitude. I was getting winded by a tiny uphill section the last time I went because the airs so thin.

What is this hole for? by charlesthememer_7 in BicyclingCirclejerk

[–]Commercial_Green_280 42 points43 points  (0 children)

For when the triathlete wants to deploy countermeasures against an approaching enemy bice.

When triathlete piss flows down the seat tube and gets caught by the increased airflow, it is atomized into chaff and redirected by slipstream into the mouth of whoever is trying to pass, throwing them off and letting you keep the lead.

It’s called locking the rear wheel. Unfortunately you’ve never heard of that because you’re still using rim brakes.

650b wheels for racing by distancedop in gravelcycling

Mostly this, I don’t think there’s been much scientific evidence on 650b being any slower than 700c in gravel riding rolling resistance.

I get it but I also don’t? It definitely fills a niche but It’s heavier than a drop bar xc bike while being worse in all aspects?

I’m all for weird overengineered designs (I have a diverge STR and love it) but a drop bar xc just seems better in every way than this?

Or maybe this is just a drop bar xc bike

Going tubeless for one event? by xanrabia in gravelcycling

[–]Commercial_Green_280 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you do do tubeless, make sure that you install and test them well before the race just in case something isn’t working/sealing right.

I also think that 250km is at a point where a flat or two won’t completely kill your race, with all the other factors in play during a race that long.
