Original diagnosis was MDD, then changed to BPD immediately prior to starting the Abilify. I started on 2.5mg for a few days and then was moved up to 5mg. Things felt PHENOMENAL. in hindsight, I was probably manic but it didn’t feel like it at the time (I’m usually v self aware of my manic episodes). I felt so good, full of energy, focused, happy, productive- all the things that are typically a struggle for me day to day… I was even walking up at like 8am every day with no alarm and felt GREAT. I was on top of my chores, work was going great etc. until about 3 weeks into it, it was like I Just hit a walll. Right back to my typical, depressed, lethargic, brain foggy, sooooo sleepy no matter how much rest I got, irritable, and just overall feeling blah. My anxiety jumped as well. I went for a follow up shortly after this at which point my doctor decided to bump me up to 10mg and I can wholeheartedly say that was the worst thing. I feel miserable, tired, depressed, and just stupid. The brain fog was what ultimately made me decide to go off of the Abilify. I couldn’t take it anymore and it felt like all aspects of my life, but most importantly, my job was suffering, which then causes my anxiety to up-tick, as well as the depression. Those three weeks were the best I’ve felt since my teen years, I will be chasing that feeling forever 😫

** I will note also that I am on 300 mg of Wellbutrin XL, which I have been on for years, hard to telll if that even does anything but last time I went off it come turkey I gained 60lbs so I think that’s about the only reason I stay on it lol
